    I can not speak for others but I felt that it would agree that those benchmarks were less time-consuming, we can stay more time on tweak our Hw, i think Super Pi 32M is sooo long benchmark, maybee will be better Super Pi 8M or 16M ;-) as a compromise of both conditions of the 3D benchmarks i don´t know what is best for Core i7 platform because we will be lmimited of QPI link in any case.

    Hey Michael, not that I'll take part in the EU event, but 32M is for sure the way to go.

    Depending on the time available in between first touching the hardware and the official benchmarking rounds, I'd say either 16M or 32M.

    Well, officially it's 18 for everything. But I don't think there will be much of a problem.

    Well, that sure will be a lot more challenging. I must say I'm pretty interested in AM3 tweaking and benching. And it doesn't take that long, so it's more or less my ideal benchmark.

    32M is the best choice. AM3 is fine if 32M is present.
    AM3 really short, 32M you must show your skill.
    From the sheduling 2 days benching ...........is enough for SPI 32M and AM3 .IMHO
    Sorry for my bad english, I'm from italy

    How many teams will actually go to Beijing? And is it possible to make something like a list of all people who are competing? I like to know who we're up against!

    Although 32m is not my favourite benchmark I agree it's a better bench for a competition like this. Imo there are 2 possibilities: AQ3+32M or 3Dmark01+1M. So I say yes to changing 1M to 32M. Looking forward to the event in Munich.

    You would hate running 1m, if you didn't end up with the best cpu.

    Same could be said for any other benchmark But in this competition it's not about the cpu fortunately, it's about who gets the best motherboard. Since most Eclipse sli boards are bclk limited

    Wondering who will be competing in North America. Not sure if it is worth $2000 to buy a 975 + MSI mobo + 2x GTX295 in order to have a chance at winning in North America.. wish it was 3D06 instead of Vantage

    Glad to be with us M8.....

    16M or 32M should be OK...
    Though the more "appropriate" I think, would be the 16M which is a bit faster because with all that crushes that we'll have during benching it (the 32M) at the "edge", we will not have much time for reboots/settings/tweaks/etc....

    GOOOOOD final decision that was made on the benchmarks. These will be used in the Germany finales no future changes will be made:

    SuperPI (32M): Version Super PI mod v1.5 XS => 100% based on "8,5 Minutes = 510 Seconds "
    Aquamark3: incl. dll Patch => 100% based on "300000 Points"
    3DMark03: Version 3.6.0 => 100% based on "60000 Points"

    The os that is used is windows XP SP3 and you will get this preinstalled. This install is driver free so you can install the drivers yourself.

    We will be doing 3 benchmarks? That's pretty much to do in 2 days, especially because 32m is a very long benchmark. But it certainly is challenging!
    And what about the hardware? My contact told me we'd get the hardware for testing very soon, but I haven't heard about that ever since. So are we still getting the hardware before the competition?

    So we'll have 2 benchsessions, in which we'll have to do 3 benchmarks? That doesn't really sound ideal but ok....
