I have Heatkiller LT on CPU, MCW30 on NB, and MIPS on the mosfets.
At 4.2GHz 1.32v/1.34v Vcore/VTT temp stabilizes at 61C PWM, 39C NB, 63C cores with 25C ambient under Prime blend. This is quite comfortable temps, but I'd like to overclock more
Yes, I have been right with CPU-buying timing (again, ), and it runs stable with 1.232v @4.2HGZ, but I need lower ambient than 25'C to keep the Core-temp under 80'C under prime/LinX on my air cooling.

    EDIT:
Right now which I have the summer sun in my room all afternoon, and right on top of my case, I'm very happy that I'm running it at 1.15v @4GHZ.

I think pwm temps also depend on cpu used... hot cpus i.e. low vcore/high temp varieties when lots of cpu vtt is used tend to run hotter on pwm load temps than the cooler cpus that run relatively higher vcore but have lower cpu temps. Such is my W3520 which at higher cpu vtt has higher idle/load pwm than my 4x i7 920 c0/d0 cpus - touched on topic along with pwm cooling tips here http://i4memory.com/f80/t3eh8-very-h...m-temps-18015/

3oh6 reviewed EVGA Classified and PWM still reached >75C with 1 fan on PWM, and 60C PWM with 3x fans for PWM temps http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...review-14.html

in that case also test each memory module individually - it could one one or more modules is on it's way to hardware heaven ! (unless it's cpu vtt/vdimm related)

I always was surprised with your temps, even your nb temp with mcw30 over stock cooling is 35C. And mine with mcw30 directly on chipset is 39C with water 32C.

This board kinda blows, my MSI X58M was much better and was half the price.

Anyways, I can't get my OCZ RAM past 1528mhz 8-8-8-24 1.66v. Any fix for this?

Will not even load windows with 20 multi, pretty strange my MSI did so its not the chip.

Are there any bios that let you lower the VTT/QPI Voltage to less then 1.21? This chip needs less then 1.15. MSI beats the DFI in voltage too haha

And my chip needs 1.28v to be 4gig HT stable.

Not to mention the 21x Xeon multi issue. DFI says it's a bios issue, so Im running vista now

    Hello,

I have a Gigabyte X58-DS4 and I am BCLK-limited : the i7 920 runs at 21x221 Mhz, 1 h OCCT stable at 1.35 V, with a phase change cooling. I think that it is able to overclock at 235x21 Mhz at 1.45 V. Consequently, I am searching for a motherboard which attains a BCLK of 235. I saw that eva2000 reached that value. But the QPI/DRAM and DRAM voltages were higher than I would like : on the DFI X58-T3eH8, I intend to run OCZ Platinum 10800 cas 7 memory at 1410 Mhz (6x235) 7-7-7-16 with a voltage inferior to 1.65 V and the uncore at 3525 Mhz (15x235) with a QPI voltage below 1.35 V. Would it be possible ?

    Thanks.

The multi gets stuck anywhere between 12-21x in Windows 7. DFI said it's a bios issue and if u wanted it to stay at 21 with High Performance you need to run Vista. Sometimes it would say 21x multi in Win7 but it would switch back in forth so fast from 20 to 21 it would show 21 but benchies would show it being stuck at 20.

Finally got 8hr Prime stable at 4ghz, took 1.264v though with a max temp of 89c

Hopefully you never see that happen in non-turbo mode because it can.

Nah it doesn't, but this board wont even boot windows with 20x200, will run 19 and 21x200 though

Doesn't like 20 multi, even though my MSI did so its not the chip. And Im tired of trying different BIOS the latest beta bios seem's to work the best because it actually will reset and not get stuck in an endless post cycle.

Ultimately Peen, it dosn't and won't matter what bios you use. If you have a D0 cpu, then the any DFI x58 is next to useless. You would be better off changing it for nearlly any other make of x58.

Ya it's not horrible it kept my Q9550 at 65c at 4ghz. I think i got a very high leakage chip. so 8hrs prime stable isnt 1hr OCCT stable. Had to put it up to 1.28v

OCCT and RealTemp show 1-2c difference for me

blah, just crashed after 1 and half hours of OCCT at 1.28v. Why does my chip suck so hard, wonder how much Water would help it

Hi I am looking at buying this DFI LANPARTY UT-X58-T3EH8 board for my new system, the only part I have so far is the D0 core 920 cpu, does anyone know if this board will boot a D0 core i7 920 with the stock bios it ships with.
The thing that worries me is that I don't have my older core i7 920 with the older stepping anymore since I sold it all to fund the new system,if I needed to flash the bios to make the D0 920 work with this board.

Don't buy OCZ for it. Anyone have a fix for OCZ1600 kits yet? I can't even run superpi 32m at any speed it errors out

have you changed the auto settings to actual values in the memory subtimings?

A good fix could be running OCZ1600 with 6x and tight timings. Have you tried @1200MZ 5-5-5 or 6-6-6?. You won't loose much 24/7 performance.

As far as i have managed to follow, all current modules have problem with running @2000MHZ+ for 24/7 use, on any MB. Unless you use a good deal extra voltages specially VVT-volt (Intel's recommendation is max 1.35v for 24/7). You could buy one of these "damn expensive" kits and try it, but I'm afraid you would (again) get problems with running it at rated speed for 24/7. Maybe we should wait for next gen RAM?

I was thinking to try some ECC-memory with my W3520. It would hopefully give some good results on Xoen, but I have only found some 1333MHZ (x6 again, LOL) modules. I couldn't find any high-end ECC modules yet, maybe it would show up soon too?
