it's kinda tough for them to plate only the top areas... it's not a brush on technique...
Note my previous post, take the block apart and only bring the top portion to be plated.

So when you take apart block

Top <----get plated
O-Ring
Bottom <---- Don't get plated

due to the retention plates your not even gonna see the bottom once it's installed
