It seems these Samsung Dominators are tested on the X48 chipset and should be fine to run @ 1800Mhz???
Don´t know about X48, it was tested on a P5K3 with a dual, hmmm

hi ghost do you post this setting of overclocking in to bios please?? do you have updated the setting with 450x9 with ram 1800 7 7 7 21??

Try Memtest 86+ Ver. 2.11 first.

If Test 0/1/2/3/4/6 didn't have any errors, that's not likely that your mem is the issue.
What I've found so far is sometimes tweaking NB DDR vRef will help stablizing Test 5 (less errors). Test 7 is more likely result in unstable FSB. FYI
After you pass all tests in Memtes 86+, try enter windows and do further testing so as to avoid system file corruption due to miscalculation of the machine

    @Gullo

Major ram setup is in the screenie and the rest is on auto.

    Setup for the 450 4x1 1800 CAS7 you find in post 2208 and 450 1800 CAS7 with 2x2Gb I have not tried, i don´t think it gonna work either.

You have to be more specific about what you want, you have all you need in my previous posts.

Yes but volt start to get ridiculus high, specially FSB, PLL, NB and DRAM when I close in on FSB 475, didn´t run any stability test though.

Actually for LGA775 build I'm using 2 kits 1x4GB mixed: Crucial Ballistix C9-2000 / C6-1333 Kits. I think I still can give it a shot if it can reach 1800Mhz...

which cooler did ya use on the NB Solarfall ? Did it allow you to go way higher than the stock one ? Curently my board is up to 630FSB stable, more till now is an endless quest
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

its a danger den universal block. i think i have a good board ( or god like skills hahah ) but i've been able to get 685fsb out from this board on my E8400 using same sort of set up that i have on the pic

    nice clocks solarfall

i'm taking a day or two break from X58 to revisit my Rampage Extreme too - want to try my 3x2GB Kingston HyperX 2000 CAS8 Elpida 50mm hyper memory on the old X48 flagship

Testing each 2GB module individual to get a nice dual channel pairing! Does voltage scaling for elpida 50mm hyper match X58 or need more vdimm clock for clock on X48 ? Finding reducing NB DDR Vref to minus mv range and advancing DRAM skews helps... so more tinkering

True. But still to reach CAS 8 - 2000Mhz is impossible in X48 for 2GB sticks...
If you test them using Memtest86+ v2.11 Test #5 you will sure know what I mean

Best of Luck!~ I've already had my fun on this baby and it took me 2 weeks to play and figure out no matter what setting I used C8-2000 is still a no go: Test #5 tonnes of errors. Best tweaking of NB DDR vRef is -22.5~-25mv, while channel A and B vRef doesn't seem to help much, going too far will only make things even worse. I always use Test #5 as an indicator.

so i just bought an e8600 that supposedly can do 4500mzh at a godly 1.26v stable on a 780i chipset. however, i cannot reproduce these numbers for the life of me on this board. it actually requires 1.3625v to not fail p95 under 30 min, and this is after everything is tuned in the bios. after playing with it a lot, here are my settings, which give better results than any of the board's auto settings. can i please have some help on lowering the vcore a bit?

    Code:
    Processor: e8600
OC From Memory Level Up: Auto
    Ai Overclock Tuner: Manual
    FSB Frequency: 450
    Ratio CMOS Setting: 10
    CPU Clock Skew: -300ps
    NB Clock Skew: -300ps
FSB Strap to North Bridge: 333 MHz
    DRAM Frequency: 1441 MHz

    DRAM Timing Control: Manual
1st Information: 7-7-7-21 (all other subtimings on auto)

    DRAM Static Read Control: Disabled
    DRAM Read Training: Disabled
    Ai Clock Twister: Auto
    Ai Transaction Booster: Auto

    EPU II Phase Control: Auto

    PCIE Frequency: 100

    CPU Voltage: 1.35675
    Load-Line Calibration: Enabled
    CPU PLL Voltage: 1.57731
    FSB Termination Voltage: 1.40491
    North Bridge Voltage: 1.51097
    DRAM Voltage: 2.00131
    South Bridge 1.5 Voltage: 1.51106
    South Bridge 1.1 Voltage: 1.10014

    CPU GTL Reference (0): +50mV
    CPU GTL Reference (1): +10mV
    CPU GTL Reference (2): +50mV
    CPU GTL Reference (3): +10mV
    NB GTL Reference: +30mV
    DDR2 ChA Reference Voltage: Auto
    DDR2 ChB Reference Voltage: Auto
    North Bridge DDR Reference: Auto

    CPU Spread Spectrum: Disabled
    PCIE Spread Spectrum: Disabled
i doubt this board is so horrible that it requires 1.36v compared to a 780i needing only 1.26v, but i really hope that i'm missing something here rather than being lied to about this chip. any help on settings is greatly appreciated!

First thing I would do is to step down on the multi to get FSB 450 stable and then go for multi 10

Delay 300ps at both CPU/NB Clock skew doesn´t sound right, try CPU -100, NB Normal or CPU -300ps, NB -100ps or even auto on both.

In which range do have test NB GTL ref? have you tried auto?

Have you tried both CPU, NB GTL ref on auto to see how far you get?

What kind of ram do you use?

for skews, i've tried in different combination ranging from auto to -400 for both CPU and NB. for NB GTL, i've tested from -10 to +70. each time tested, i only vary one thing at a time. yes, i've tried the auto settings and didn't get as far as i did now. i'm using two sticks of 1.65v ballistix tracers rated at 1600mhz 8-8-8-24, so no OC'ing in the memory department yet. i already memtested the memory so make sure the sticks aren't faulty at these speeds. thanks for the suggestions, i'll try them one more time.

I have fired up my EP45T-UD3P and why do I post it in this thread, well I thought that we can compare it with the RE, yes I know they are not in the same league but what the heck, lets do it for fun of it.

I poped in my Q9650 and began with FSB 450 4,05GHz and 2x1 Dominator 1800C7 but it refuse to boot what ever i did except use the XMP profile but then it throw lot of volt, hmmmm, not good.

Well I switch those ram for my 2x2 Transcend and try to boot at 450 1800 CAS8 but no way it would boot, what the .

Tried with FSB 500 4,0GHz and ram 1600 777 21 2T tRD9 and yes it booted and I could run some tests.

I´ll be back with some bandwidth and super Pi if anyone is interested.

Okey guys time to rise to the occasion, I have run two Super Pi on my EP45T-UD3P and now it´s time to compare this with Rampage Extreme.

Seriously, it would be nice to compare the two boards with each others with the same kind of quad @ the same FSB, clockspeed and 2x2Gb ram.

    This was done with Windows 7 RC 64bit and with no optimizations, a Q9650 @ 500, 4,5GHz and 2x2Gb ram @ 1600 777 21 tRD 9.

    Anyone interested.
