You got some awesome combo there with that EP45-UD3P, E8400 and those Cellshock.

That FSB 550 4,4GHz ram @ 1320 are outstanding, awesome work.

    Keep up the good work.

    Hey guys,

Got a problem with my UD3P.

I was rebuilding my WC loop.
After reinstalling all hardware, I booted up my rig yesterday, all turns on but the screen stays blank.
Rebooted several times, Phase leds from the board light up but nothing happens.

Took out the videcard, reseated it, installed another CPU, tried 4 different memory sticks, removed the HD's from the SATA connectors, CMOS clear, battery out, but still nothing.
The system boots but nothing happens, screen stills stays blank. Phase leds turn on, and go out after 15 seconds.

What I noticed is that when I took out all memory and booted without sticks, the system would do endless reboots after a couple of seconds.

Did anyone experienced the same problem before?
I only have the board for 3 weeks now and didn't have any problems so far.

Any pins bend ?, too much pressure on the socket ? tried mobo with an air cooler ?
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Have you tested the monitor? I have had similar expeiences, and it usually turned out to be a poor connection where the monitor lead fastens to the Vid Card.

mind you,i dont know if you remember, but my first maxII was borked.very low voltages
vtt and nb too high and it wouldnt boot.and i never got much time with it after the
first RMA.because each board had to be sent back.so maybe with more time with it
i might have been able to lower the vcore?i dont know.

******Channel A and B Timing Settings******

ive never really checked what setting the board sets.great to know for when
im on the edge of stability,to be able to loosen these up and be stable is a +
    in my book.thanks

    today i decided to give 550x8@4400 ddr1320 pl8 a go,and it wasnt easy.but i got it.
i tried all sorts of voltages, some that i knew were not needed, and were quite excessive.
everything i tried failed blend before i could even hit 10 minute mark.finally i took a step back
and looked at the facts.voltages were not going to solve it.and decided to raise my mch ref
up one notch and bingo, problem solved.i guess 0.70 (showing in ET6) is ok up to 530fsb after
that 0.720 (showing in ET6)is whats needed.at least for me.later ill try and see if 0.720 will work
ok with my OC's below 550fsb.
anyways i got this one today.

going to try for 8x563@4504 ddr1351.but i doubt i can do it.
Glad to be of help. Settings it manually really makes a difference on my system. Still have to figure out which timings exactly are being set with the Standard, Turbo and Extreme settings.

That are some really nice results you have there. Never would have thought that changing the refs would help. For the most cases, once you have've found the 'golden settings' you don't have to change it anymore. Nice to see that it still can help you get higher FSB, when upping voltages doesn't help anymore.

Concerning me just not getting 4500 stable... I'm beginning to suspect my PSU. I'm running with an OCZ PowerStream 520W and a Thermaltake 450W VGA PSU. So my two vidcards can be left out concerning the powerdraw. The OCZ 520 however has one 12v rail rated 30A, perhaps I'm just on the edge here. I'm thinking of getting a Corsair HX1000 which has two 12v rails both 40A each :P

I took a look during Prime and Linx with Everest and now I also understand why LinX produces a much higher heatdump:

    LinX : 136A and 196W

    Prime Large FTT's : 100A and 145W

LinX draws a lot more amps than Prime so it seems

No pins in the socket bend, tripple checked it.
Installed the WC 3.0 and applied pressure as suggested by WC, I even used less pressure.

Even tried booting without monitor cable attached, no go.

Guess I'll be pulling the rig apart (again) , and install it again.

The weird thing is that when no memory is installed, the system makes continuous reboots (after a couple of seconds, screen stays blank though), and with memory installed, nothing happens.
DIMM slots maybe damaged, although I don't see any physical damage to the board in general.

I've been busy with other stuff, I haven't done anything bench/OC wise in a few months now. Not sure if I'll get back into it or what at this stage.

The vcore difference is not insignificant, strange that the 6 phase PWM of the UD3P seems to produce better results than the 16 phase PWM of the M2F. Of course it could just be flakey board or not fully optimized settings in case of the M2F though as you suggested. Thanks for digging those pics up.

    Sorry for the late response.

I had some fun with my Rampage Extreme/Q9650/4x1 Dominator 1800C7 and participate in a Hwbot challenge over at OCN and now I have fired up a EP45T-UD3P so the EP45-UD3P have to rest until those 2x2 OCZ Blade LV get avalible here in Sweden.

BTW, those Crucial you have, what kind of IC do they have, those Crucial that i get here i Sweden have Micron D9KPT and are Dubble sided?

That´s probably due to the 2oz copper layer in the PCB and/or maybe the P45 rev A3 chipset, I bet my on the 2oz copper. My MIIF couldn´t stay with the UD3P when I push my Q9650 for FSB 500+ and 4x2 ram.

OMG THIS CPU RULES 9x500@4500 w/1.29v
this morning i decided to try 9x500@4500 again
this time using the new mch ref of 0.720,which allowed me
to go above 530fsb yesterday and for the hell of it i decided
to start with the vcore two notches down from my last stable
vcore setting of 1.337v bios/1.31 cpuz load for 4500MHz.
so i set vcore at 1.325v bios/1.29v cpuz load.and got this
    this cpu is a gem

i was so excited and stressed about it failing that i just had to
stop it before it had a chance to fail on me.so i stopped it and
got the SS.later i'll try again to see how far it will go

Got an old X1900XT laying around here, gonna try that one.

    Stupid question :

As I have a waterblock installed on my GTX260, and don't wanna remove my whole WC loop, is it possible to leave the card in one of the PCI-E slots (without the PCI-E connectors attached, and install the X1900XT in the other PCI-E slot?

CrytiK are you going to totally give up OCing?
"Not sure if I'll get back into it or what at this stage"
from your statement it sounds as if you have found
    something else to do.
if so,the community here at XS will be losing a top notch
member who's helped a lot of users.so i hope its not so.
otherwise XS will be losing a great asset for sure.

    Stupid question :

As I have a waterblock installed on my GTX260, and don't wanna remove my whole WC loop, is it possible to leave the card in one of the PCI-E slots (without the PCI-E connectors attached, and install the X1900XT in the other PCI-E slot?
Do you have a HK block on the vid card too? Could very well be that.

I would just pop in the 1900XT and keep the 280 in ya hand ( not inserted in any slot, nor PSU )... hope she starts then

As it turns out it is my UD3P that is bad, rev1.1. Thought it was a case wire grounding out but couldn't find where. Took it out at 3am this morning and put it in my old 900 case, still does the bootloop thing, freezes up or bsod's in Windows. Have switched out every piece of hardware with no better results, even tried a fresh install. Cannot see any physical damage to the board, not so much as a scratch. The good news is my SilverStone PSU isn't bad, and my 1200 case isn't shorting out.

have you tried it outside of a case.like on a box?that way you can rule out grounding.its worth a try.
