undo pins on each side make new cable with new pins on each side. Can't get easier. I would just say F the old cable and make a brand new one with all new parts. undoing each moles is a complete waste of time if you can buy the connnectors you want to use (if you can't then you have no choice). Performance PCs has all the PSU modding stuff you need although I recommend buying sleeving in bulk from either Parts Expess or cableorganzier.com as it is cost effective

what if the psu isnt completely modular like the corsair hx1000w psu ?

and i only need 4(maybe 6) pci 6 pins not 6+2
