    Good choice of motherboad

Core i7 920 is actually Bloomfield not Nehalem but same architecture - make sure you get D0 stepping.

Not sure about air coolers but most seem to go for TRUE 120 - someone else may recommend one or check other's sigs.

Good luck - it is an awesome CPU!

Thanks for the reply......... How is my choice of ram. Just don't want to go through the hassle of going through all types of setting to get it to boot.

I am a big fan of OCZ so Yes, nice choice if you want low latency but if you want to OC then I would go for the Reapers .......

The CL7 Perfect Storms are great but I personally would recommend the CL8 for about $200 less.

Thanks for the info. Yes ,nice batch Xeon there bro ,Great collection of i7s you got there. i think its time for you to dust off that Single Stage of yours George and go sub-sero for the weekend to find Max Clocks on that Monster i7s family you got and Xeon too . They will perform at their best.
Lets push it a little higher .

when was the support for D0 added in DFI BIOS? Are currently shipping mobos have BIOS which supports w3520? I would hate to get the board only to find that I can't boot it with my w3520.

I have been experimenting with the latest official BIOS (02-17) and it has been working fine with w3250. I guess this is the currently shipping BIOS, and in case you should be fine.

Here is a thread I started on the subject back when The RC was released. There are many of solutions/possibilities in the thread but all have failed. Just FYI to get you caught up in the matter.

Yeah some folks have turbo issues in windows 7 only but other folks like myself have no problems - hopefully DFI does get it fixed for those folks

Now to a new cpu I just bought

    System:
    • Intel Xeon W3520 3845A935 D0 (Xeon equivalent of Core i7 920 D0)
    • EK Supreme LT 1366 / FESER 480 / MCP655
    • DFI UT X58-T3EH8 04/28 beta
    • 2x HD4870x2 Crossfire (Powercolor + Gigabyte flashed to Asus Top bios) with ATI Win7 9.4 (8.612 WHQL)
    • 6GB Corsair Dominator GT DDR3-2000Mhz 7-8-7-20
    • 750GB Samsung SATAII
    • Silverstone OP1200 PSU
    • Triple boot - WinXP Pro SP3 / Vista Ultimate 64Bit SP2 / Win7 Ultimate 64bit RC

Still early testing as only put my W3520 3945A935 in 3hrs ago and it's priming with custom large ffts 5400mb allocated @20x200 = 4000Mhz at 1.184v vcore and 1.26v set cpu vtt with coretemp load temps of 56-60C in 26.5C ambients!

But it's first cpu that i've experienced that according to SG overvolts CPU VTT from what is set in bios at idle as well under load

i.e. 1.26v cpu vtt set bios = 1.29v idle and 1.31-1.32v load for cpu vtt. Still on 4/28 bios here. For my i7 920 c0/d0 cpu vtt set in bios, under volts slightly at idle but jumps at load.

blood awesome 7-10C cooler than my other i7 920 c0 and d0 cpus!
