Actually, the digital probes on the BigNG are no more accurate than regular analogue probes, so no loss there.

Just to reiterate on a point - you were running regular fans on PWM control? And you had no issues throughout their working range? And maybe I'm just overlooking it, but do the fan headers give 100% power at startup?
