And your car analogy is not correct. There are many cars that have a "top speed" based on the speedometer but aren't necessarily able to achieve it.
if you want my test to be more "realistic", you can run the "baby mode" version of it, more realistic, castrated version of it. Launch it with Shader complexity 0. It will be castrated, but closer to what you want.

And you'll get the error detection mode, which is functioning very well.

But truly, i fail to see the point.
