Basically, the replacement D0, 3845B026, has identical performance as the 027. So it's a tossup which to keep, both max out (so far) at 4859 on air.
THe 026 needs about .05 V more for the same clock, but runs cooler. Also, I ran prime95 sustained on the 027 at 4263 Mhz at 1.184 Vcore, I have yet to see what the 026 can do. If it's close, I'll probably keep the 026 cause despite higher Vcore, it runs cooler. [ I did an advance replacement from the retailer who sold it to me, so I've had both for a few days, Intel isn't involved.]

Man Roller, I wish I was able to do that. I cannot seem to get anything over 219 to boot and nothing over 225 once I am in Windows with the Classified and that's with 1.5v for both vcore and VTT. I am still playing with it, but it is frustrating. I may just put the Classified up on Ebay and go back to the BR, haven't decided yet.

Yeah I think I can go just a tad bit lower on my 4.2ghz Prime95 run as well as my max 4.85ghz CPUz. I think mine and yours are about neck to neck. Great chips though!

    drnip,

Your advice please...I have two chips, a 027 and a 026. The 026 needs 1.41 Vcore to do the 231.4x21 validation, the 027 just 1.34. But the 026 runs cooler in all things at the same clock even though it needs more volts. I have an outstanding RMA so I must send one back. Which chip should I keep?

The main issue if you overclock a i7 is heat. So my advice is to keep the cooler Chip! And to be honest, 231.4x21 is very god for a 920

I'll be buying the 920 in Australia soon, can anyone suggest a batch I should look out for?

If you can live without the $$$ spent, why don't you just keep both? If not, I would probably keep the lower vcore one. You can always upgrade your cooling for better one later on.

    027 and a 026, that's a good question.

I may be able to choose between several D0 soon, and wondering about the same. Any pattern for good D0-batches is emerging yet?

You guys who have been following, any advise about A, B or which week/batch# to look for?

If you can hand pick one, go with the B batch...not a 100% garantee, but just little bit safer.

It looks like B batch does actually OC a little better from the few CPUs we've seen so far.

Got my Classified and W3520 Batch 3848A352 together late last night, I also install the heatkiller 3 block. So far so good, now to go higher...

Go with any B batch you can find and especially one with the last three digits as close to zero as possible...but in general, any B will be just little bit safer than A batch. Good luck and keep us posted...

Actually, I just pulled the trigger and order this Pao's B batch. It's 3849B, though...unlike the 3845B above.
