I really am at my wits end with this thing

I feel like there is this one setting that I'm overlooking that will be the "magic bullet". I'm just not sure what it is....
I just flashed my Reapers with the OCZ Forum SPD to get 1066 at boot using Auto settings and it sets them to 5-6-6-24-32 2T. I now have a better and more stable OC (I don't care about memory benchmarks anyway). They also recommend keeping the voltage lower, I now run at 1.96v.

Any news on impending bios's for the M2RS? I really need to find a way to get my 9950 stable at ~3.3Ghz and allow my Reapers to be OCed becuase atm my system wont allow me to go beyond 1066

I've just come across this for the UT board:

    2009-04-15
    R7LD4159.zip
    Major Reasons of Change:
Update uCode to support AMD Athlon II 400 and 600 series CPUs.

Is anyone using this one already?

its there anyway to get the loose timings without setting memclk to 1066. I need the loose settings for memory to work with memclk 800 settings or atleast the trc to go above 26.

i tried that, just have the tight timings to choose from. with 800 I get all tight timings and with 1066 i get all loose timings.

And I said it only alows me to have the tight timing options. unless im missing something here. Come on man, im not a noob here. Do you guys actually have the same board? when you set it to "800" the manual timings only allow for a max of 6,6,6,18,26. when I set the clocks to default and change the "800" to "1066" its lets me get the "relaxed" timings "manually". At 1066 I have no headroom to overclock the cpu/nb/ht.

just what are you trying to do? 1066 needs looser timings to run, when you try running the 800 and then clocking the mems to 1066 with looser timings causes all sorts of stress to the mems controller....

if you really want to play with the mems timings beyond what the bios offers, then load up SPDTool.exe or CPU-Tweaker.exe and start playing.....there are some values that can be controlled beyond what the bios offers....

there is a reason for not having more choices, cause they won't work for the most part....

good luck, hope you get it all worked out...

you really dont read anything that im actually posting. I dont want 6,6,6 timings. thats whole point of wanting to go from 5,6,6,18,26 to 5,5,5,16,41. the timings are there just not able to get to them when I have the damn memory set to 800(then over clocked to 1066) Please read what im typing before trying to help me.

guess the only way to fix it is to get a BE. that way I can still OC the cpu by multi and just set the ram to 1066.

Heres my delima, please read carefully.

My Phenom II 920 has a stock multi of 14. I can go lower on the multi just not higher. Lower means .5-14.
If I leave my cpu at default, I can set the ram to 1066. When I set the ram to 1066 I get a different set of memory timings then if I were to set the memory to 800. AUTO, MANUAL,....ETC dont change the memory timings I get.
With the 13.5 or lower mutli I can hit 1066 when over clocking from 800. My cpu can run at 3.645ghz so I can still overclock the cpu and run at 1066 when overclocking from the 800 setting. Problem is this board only allows me to run with tight memory timings set. The loose memory timings set is only available when memory is set manually to 1066 not overclocked to 1066.

Ive read that someone was able to get the loose memory timings set when they overclocked to 1066. It became available to them after they hit 1066. thats not the case for me. It always stays at the tight timing memory set.

QUESTION IS "WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO GET THE LOOSE TIMING MEMORY SET WHEN OVERCLOCKING MANUALLY FROM 800 TO 1066?"

Some one here has to know. this is really driving me insane.

idk what everyone else is thinking , but you are losing me bub.

The options are, either SET your memory to 400 / 800 / 1066 *for phenom only . Set your timing mode MANUAL or AUTO.

If you set your memory timing to MANUAL, you should be able to change you timings.... i'm not understanding what you are talking about "it doesn't change the timings you get."

    maybe some screenies would help.

are you serious? frakin fark man. your not talking about the advanced settings right? where you hit one of the f buttons and it asked if you want advanced settings. its only gives me like cpu nb-vid hex, tlb fix, and someting else little.

For those who I am confusing.
Im not using Auto SPD, its is set to manual.

maybe this will explain. Please look in your bios to understand.
    Select Genie Bios.
    Timing mode - Manual.
Memory Clock Value or Limit - DDR 800 (400-1066)

    Select DRAM Configuration.
    Select MCT Memory Timings.
    MCT Memory Timings - Manual
    2T- Mode enabled (Enabled,Disabled)
CAS latency Time (Tcl): 3~6 clocks
    Precharge Delay (Tras): 5~18
    DRAM RAS# Precharge (Trp) : 3~6 clock
DRAM RAS# To CAS# Delay (Trcd): 3~6 clock
    Bank to Bank Delay (Trrd): 2~5 clocks;
Command rate of memory's banks (Trc): 11~26 clocks
    (Trtp): 2~5 clocks
    (Twr): 3~6 clocks
    (Twtr): 1~3 clocks
    (Trfc0): 75~327ns
    (Trfc1): 75~327ns
    (Trfc2): 75~327ns
    (Trfc3): 75~327ns
    (Trdrd): 2~5 clocks
    (Trwrd): 3~9 clocks
    (Twrrd): 0~3 clocks
    (Twrwr):1~3 clocks
CS/ODT Pin fine Delay: Enable /Disable <----What does this do?
Bank Swizzle Mode: Enable /Disable <----What does this do?
AUTO Tweak Performance: Enable/Disable <----What does this do?

Now if I change the "Memory Clock Value or Limit" to "1066", all the availbe timings from above to choose from are different.

CAS latency Time (Tcl): 3~6 clocks(with 1066 selected becomes something like 5~8)
    Precharge Delay (Tras): 5~18
    DRAM RAS# Precharge (Trp) : 3~6 clock(with 1066 selected becomes something like 5~8)
    DRAM RAS# To CAS# Delay (Trcd): 3~6 clock(with 1066 selected becomes something like 5~8)
Bank to Bank Delay (Trrd): 2~5 clocks
Command rate of memory's banks (Trc): 11~26 clocks (with 1066 selected becomes something like 18~41)

Does this make more sence when I say looser timings set?

oh man , my issue is my ram is rated at 5,5,5,18,51. Closes I can get is 5,5,5,18,26 and my 8gb of ram wont run 1066 at those timings. I want to make that 26 a 41(my ram will run at 1066 at 5,5,5,18,41). the timings are in the board just not available when I set the ram at 800 and overclock it to 1066. if I leave the cpu stock(not overclocked) and set to 1066 the timings are there, just not when its set to 800 and overclocked to 1066.

PLEASE SOMEONE SAY THEY UNDERSTAND WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT HERE!!

there are two things you can try, first, as I previously mentioned, you can load up CPU-Tweaker.exe or SPDTool.exe and gain access to changes not available in the bios, or, you can get a bit adventurous and try to load up OCZ's more relaxed 1066 SPD on your Gskills, I did this with some Adata stuffs I had, worked beautifully even though it was for OCZ stuffs, YMMV....

and, there are obvious problems with the 1066 if not running a phenom, the choice to run the 1066 isn't even an option....

and, to answer yer question one more time, the default settings and the range of setting changes available CHANGES when you toggle the ram (533,800,1066) in the bios.....if you want more options, I gave you some suggestions....

    Trfc0): 75~327ns
    (Trfc1): 75~327ns
    (Trfc2): 75~327ns
    (Trfc3): 75~327ns

set all these to 195 and give it a shot.....

there is a thread over @DFIclub forums, RE: mems and some explainations to your questions, linkee

read up, might help you a bit....found with a simple net search... (bank swizzle)

I actually did flash the mem with ocz spd. Did that like 2 days ago. Mem trfc is set at 195, I use that as my default. Im a pretty active member over at dfi. Tried to get help there but not much luck and thats why I tried this thread. I appreciate you guys rtying to help me, I really do. I think the only way Im gonna fix my issue is to get a BE. I really isnt an issue if you think about it. I got everything in the ranges I want it, I was just trying to get some info on why I couldnt access the looser timings. Thanks again guys.
