@kahlmyr: Tested already?
Hope that anything happens on this in the bios. Otherwise this board is getting less interesting for the overclockers.

This will not happen quickly. They just finally got the word through less thana week ago. It might be months before we see this implemented assuming they decide to do that. It's possible they may be able to put out a quick fix, but I wouldn;t be expecting it. Just keep checking the Asus update site. If they do, that's where it will be.
so, any news on this problem?
I am gonna to buy a new mobo and wanna know which i should buy.
I want to go on air a thermalright true , i7 920 , and OCZ 1600 (12gb)
Nobody posted it here because they were all so happy with testing.
Since February in the Bios is a new option now to disable the Turbo Limit.
So it is fixed.

... ok .... thought i am blind! lol
hmm thought this was fixed overall... !? Damn! Well for the Rampage II Extreme, the Rampage II Gene and the P6T6 WS Revolution it is fixed.

Wait, so the P6T6 WS Revolution allows the VR override? Would it be possible to crossflash the P6T Deluxe with the P6T6 Revolution BIOS?

I can confirm this occurs with my Core i7 920 @ 4.2 GHz + Asus P6T Vanilla![]()
We need someone brave enough to try a cross-flash.
Anyone?

If I was confident enough to know how to restore it if it went bad, I would!
Mind you, I've only just got the board and don't have a CPU for it yet!

Asus support is the worst I have ever had to deal with. They reply very official as if cut&paste from an online manual of sorts. They have no interest in solving this issue. I am looking into Evga now. I would not buy Asus P6T (any model) if I knew about this issue. And I will make sure that people who are comparing mobos, they know about this issue.

So the Asus boards aren't worth getting as the RIIE is well over my budget.
I had the Asus P6T, P6T Deluxe V2 and DFI Lanparty UT-X58-T3EH8 in my price range.
Which board would you get between those three? Should I just get the DFI or still say with one of those two Asus boards?
I'd go for the DFI... it has a digital PWM. Only other board that has that is the uber-expensive eVGA Classified afaik.

Yeah? I'm looking to get a D0 920 and will be using air cooling either a TRUE or Noctua NH-U12P in push pull configuration so I am only looking to try and get between 4000-4200Mhz.
So having said all that do you guys think is it still worth getting the DFI over the cheaper Asus P6T for what I want to try and get out of my CPU.
For sure. Why deal with throttling problems when you don't have to?

DONOT buy the Asus board, it has 21x multi drop issue and S3 sleep issue. I am returning/selling it to get the DFI one. I already ordered the DFI board from superbiz for $263 shipped.
I could reach 4.3Ghz (which got throttled under severe load to 4.1Ghz) on my Asus with Xeon w5320 on air. We will see how far DFI lets me go. I am hoping it to do the same and actually provide me 4.3Ghz performance. Anybody wants to do educated estimate how far it will go?
I'm surprised ASUS isn't willing to address this issue.
They could potentially lose a lot of customers, some of which have spent a massive amount of money on their products over the years.
As we (and they) know, if the support isn't there, people will shop elswhere. I can't think of any good reason not to include this feature in a BIOS update. It's not like we're asking for some 'high end' overclocking settings like crazy voltage settings etc
Would I be right in thinking other manufacturers have included 'disable turbo limit' on cheaper X58 boards as well as top end ones? Then why not ASUS!
Has anyone made this point to ASUS in an email? I might contact them myself, I'm quite annoyed having only just purchased a P6T. Could a petition or poll help?
@dejanh Isn't there a good chance a cross flash might be successful? Both are X58 with similar hardware.
If we can flash an X48 BIOS on an X38 board, then surely there's a good chance this will work too?
