We are increasingly using more LV IC's on kits now and they all seem to max out around 1.65V. I actually think this is the byproduct of Intel demanding 1.65V max on i7..(although we all know you can run higher)

Animal series is cas9 micron 2000 re badged as 1333 or 1600 to give you guys something cheap that clocks. The 1600Plat new AMD special kit 7-7-7- rated is based off similar IC's.

The main issues are the limit the IMC seems to have around 1800MHZ...1333 6-6-6-24 is as fast as 7-7-7-24 1600, what you would think would be a fast combo to run often is not...its like the cpu has tRD (performance level) and it loosens by auto as you clock up the HTT or in some cases change the CPU multi.

You can look for this as you clock up HTT, or change multi and test with everest. Sometimes clocking down the multi gets the ram working faster...very weird.

Anyway...try different timings with different speeds, don't limit the tests to 6-6-6 or 8-8-8- etc, try everything and see what you find.
So Tony, I did some tests with my OCZ Ram and according to the Memtest bandwith, I get the same bandwidth with either 1600 7-7-7-21, 1333 6-6-6-18 or 1066 5-5-5-15.
So which is a better choice in your opinion or is it irrelevant? In other words, does my CPU has to work harder thus more limiting to OCing when running 1600 or is it harder to run tighter timings even at 1066?
