AMD Athlon 64-X2 7750 BE can be unlocked Quad-Core (Updated)

    Sourse : http://gigglehd.com/zbxe/2245916#12

Korean at gigglehd.com discovered that AMD Athlon 64-X2 7750 BE can be Unlocked Quad-Core by Advanced Clock Calibration (ACC) feature .

Check here : http://www.parkoz.com/zboard/view.ph...c=asc&no=91536 korea web site

    Another unlocked Kuma 7750.

    "CPU: Kuma 7750 0909BPMW(not ES)
    MB: Asrock A790GX/128M

In BIOS, He have Changed only the ACC(Auto).
And, He said that 4 cores was displayed in CPU-Z, Everest and TaskManager."

    http://gigglehd.com/zbxe/2249403#0

J.J Dragon have taken a picture for verify Unlocked-Kuma 7750.
    And He said as follow:
I think that ACC doesn't seem enable Kuma 7750 to Quad-Core, and All of AUTO, PER CORE and ALL CORE settings has failed.

And, Kuma 7750 BE was changed into Opteron 1300 in CPU-Z

Now, I have trying to figure out the exactly way for Unlocked Kuma.

The situation of research until now, The way for Unlocked is not clear and the various and complicated parameters/conditions seems to effect upon Unlocked process.

p.s. Sorry about My Eng is bad

J.J Drangon did test in 3DMark for understand difference between Unlocked Kuma and Default Kuma.

i seriously doubt this, can anyone else verify that? If its true then that could sum up being one of the greatest deals the tech world has ever seen. $60US for a quad??

I wonder how its done whether it's true or not, i already try 3 different bioses in the past 3 months and no luck..or is it just me unlucky with my chip? Why all of a sudden there's a news of success unlocking kuma after almost 5 months nobody can do it?it's not a revision either..still B3. Anyway, im still curious though

TS, since you're korean too can u translate a few important point? google still misses a lot, & i dont know if any of the missing ones important comment or not

Will test now, but i'm sure this is very dependent on what mobo or chipset you have...

I think i remember reading about this on a Phenom X3 paired with a 790GX, but not with other chipset

the best way to proof is CPU-Z Validation .

as i know CPU-Z only changes thread and core count and doesn't change CPU Spec ! ( i think fake until CPU-Z Validation )

I dont know. We havent exactly seen much of these. And the last one wasnt even stable at 1Ghz. Seems more a myth.

    As in?

    I call this fake:
    http://gigglehd.com/zbxe/2249831#7

Dual to quadcore and changing CPU-Z CPU name to a new one. I would think CPU-Z just uses the ID for indentification. Not CPU cores.

    7750 Dualcore to a FX-7750 Quadcore....

Not even to mention that this dualcore uses its own mask. And this one he uses here is an engineering sample.

the cpu scores shown fall in line with it though ?

these unlockable chips are the pot of gold in the batches lol

I dont know. But you could also easily craft that yourself.
And who else here did actually unlock any X3 with a forth core? Nobody?

The X3 is salvaged quads. X2 is its own mask.

    Motherboard using GIGABYTE MA790GP-UD4H

    List of batch

    * 0904 BPAW ------> can't boot at all when ACC Enable, show F2 in debug card

    * 0904 BPMW-------> Boot OK, detect as Phenom X4 and then stop, debug card shown 83 code.

*0849CPAW --------> Boot OK, and act normal like Phenom X4.

    Share your experience here !

I am very skeptical about this particular "unlock" though, weren't kuma failed tri-cores?

Kuma doesn't have it's own mask. It's a full, regular Barcelona die, with all 4 cores present.

    the people in this thread
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=219087

    and this thread
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=219183

Not a great deal are able to achive full stablity, but there's the odd CPU that appears to have no problems at all.. perhaps even just TDP related binning is why some end up as a tri..

No, Kuma (X2) is a salvaged quad also, They never made a dual core K10 on 65nm. They are (supposedly) on 45nm as Regor with no L3 and 1Mb L2 / core.

as i said before it's fake friends !

many reason to be fake : 1) Quad Core in CPU Spec in CPU-Z . 2) cpu showed in POST is ES and in Screen shot is retail ! 3) in Windows MyComputer Properties it's Quad Core that's Just a Registery chaning because that value is about CPU Spec that not changed with any core and thread changing . or maybe i'm wrong . please tell him somebody to give us CPU-Z Validation ...
