Are there any plans for this to see the light of day or is it all a pipe dream?

Short and to the point, good question! I wouldn't call it a pipe dream, but to start with I was just designing what I thought would be the perfect tower case for a liquid cooled system and to see if anyone agreed with me. Now that there has been so much interest in the case, I am trying to get a manufacturer interested in producing it. I have had a response from one major player, but nothing has come of that so far. I can't say whether it will ever see the light of day, but I will keep trying, for the time being anyway. I will let you know if I have any luck or if I decide to throw in the towel! Watch this space.

Good enough for me. Good luck getting it out there, it certainly has its niche market.

I'm feeling a little despondent at the moment, after the recent data loss, as there had been a great deal of discussion about my case design over the past week or so. A large number of posts have been lost in this thread, and my 'Liquid Cooling' thread. All of the posts lost were encouraging and some were offering support in my quest to get this case built and put into production. So I'm feeling a little reluctant to start posting again at the moment, but I'm not going to give up just yet. Just need to get back on track!

I feel sorry for you, it was a terrific thread.

Plus I made a humoungus post that I have little recollection of
explaining the cost's and limitations of plastic or composite materials
and why at least for a limited run production aluminum would
be cheaper to start with, and superior in quality.

Anyway I hope you get it back on track. I was really hoping the
data would be recovered, but what's done is done, and so we must push on.

That is one perfect case my friend, would be a shame to give up on it now. Like the above poster, on hearing the news that the TJ07 was being discontinued, I am secretly hoping that something like this will be the successor.

The other case that I have seen recently and wanted was the LL X2000, but I have not been able to source one and my shop is now telling me that they are likely to be discontinued also.

Something about your design Mick reminds me of the Voodoo Omen case. Not the old Omen's which were basically just painted, modded LLs, but the new custom one they released in June 2008. Unfortunately it seems they have been completely absorbed into the HP machine now and no longer have this machine/case on their website, although there are a few images of it scattered over the web still. A few points I liked about it were the clean, CNC machined like appearance, built in copper WC plumbing and the LCD front screen. It was also a 90deg rotated system like the Raven, although personally a rear I/O interface would suit me better. Anyway, after reading your above posts, I though some inspiration to get back into it was in order, so hopefully this image of the Omen helps.

    Cheers Mick.

Actually found this link to a small gallery on engadget that is probably better.

    Cheers

OK, I'm not going to bother re-posting the renders and animations that were lost, as they are now, basically, out of date.

Here is my latest render, now with a 140mm exhaust fan at the rear....

Here is my latest 360 degree animation, including the 140mm fan, with and without the side panels....

Finally, here is a simple animation showing the case air flow, which is the reason why the PSU is mounted with fan facing upwards.....

Excellent. I'm liking this quite a bit.

The hole in the mobo tray behind the processor is key! I wish more case manufacturers did this. Its a big pain in the butt to have to take my entire mobo out to swap out processor cooling solutions.

If I may be so bold to make a suggestion however...
It would be very handy to be able to substitute more hard drive capacity in the bottom compartment in exchange for the bottom rad. I'd be much more likely to want more than 4 hard drives (4 SSD's in RAID 0 + 2 "standard" high capacity HDD's in RAID 1 for archive = 6 drives!) than a triple rad after already having room for a quad!

    Just something to think about.

Loving your designs! Keep designing, be creative!

    Great work!

Although, I have always found the USB ports to be more usable, when located near the top of the case. Perhaps even on the top 90 degree bend.

Looks like you can flatten that area out a tad and add the nec ports there..?

    here: 900 case

the USB ports are modular, you can move them to the top bays if you prefer.

I was just thinking 'what the hell' why don't I just ask the question; is there anyone out there who thinks they can get this case built? Basically, I haven't the time or funds to get it made myself, and none of the case manufacturers I've approached seem to be interested. At this point in time I just want to see it become a reality. So, if there's someone who has got the resources to get my design off the drawing board, please let me know......

    hmm...
i would like to have the front fan grill area in a circle then a square

and then at the back put little holes for flow meters to be seen at the back 1 at the top 1 at the bottom

ask charles he might want to use this but make sure nothing is changed it is the perfect the way it is

if you even get manfucaturers to do it then make sure they dont change 1 dash of this master piece

The front grill seems a little ugly to me, if there was a way to cool the drives without having the front grill at all it would be awesome.

I would be interested in how you would plumb the tubings to the two pumps.

Just to let you know, I've started working on some detailing on how this thing would be put together. As it is at the moment, fabrication would be a little difficult, so a few minor changes will be needed. These changes will not affect the way the case looks, just the way the sections are attached to one another.....

All this case designing have made me try Google sketchup and I have tried to make my own midi tower here tonight :p

I have no idear how to make a mesh for fans (I want it to be stylish, so black anodised and with black mesh infront of all fan in/outputs)

But its wide enough to support tower cooler and side fans and it has 8 cm clearence above the MB to support a 140x2 rad or one 120x3 rad.

Then I would put 3 temp readers on the front panel.

But it will take ages if I need it to be pretty :p but its still fun

Just think it with a finish like

    :P

This is a good start! My first attempts were no better, just takes time and patience to find your way round SketchUp. Took me ages to create the fan grills alone…..
