Good luck with that one. I think your expectations are a little too high there.
    0) 5GHz would be enough.
    1) I said if. That doesn't mean I expect.

    3) I consider using a good water cooling for that purpose.

We've got chips on the way to us. Orders will ship by Monday 3/23 at the latest, maybe 3/20 if we're lucky. Either way, it's better than the original 3/25 ETA

    New ETA?
You can lead a nub to water, but all you'll get is wet nub.

Is it now "safe" to assume that the major e-tailers (e.g., Newegg.com) are selling the newer D0 revision?

They're mixed in with the 3000 C0s still in stock. read the Newegg reviews. You Probably have a 1 in 8 chance of receiving a D0.

this isn't an option for everybody, but i always buy processors at fry's because they work with me checking the stepping and batch numbers to get the best they have available.

I have a MicroCenter and a Tiger Direct within 20 miles of me. They let me look thru their stock also. But No D0s yet.

Kensek, is that just an exaggeration, or is there really that many C0's?

Well, not in this case, considering Fry's is charging $330+, before tax.

    There's about a 8 to 1 ratio of C0s to D0s.

It took Newegg 4 months before all the Q6600s shipped were G0s from B3s back in 2007.
