Well time for another handoff, had problems with 1866 XMP even with manual timings needed a bit too much qpi/vtt so going with 1600Mhz.
Quick burn in 24 minute run of prime, no turbo or HT, temps go from 50-80 and stabilise after about 5 minutes, noctua NH-U12P push pull.
My North Bridge(MCH) temp shows 65 degrees under load, idles ~60, the bios is about 5 degrees lower. Is this a worry? Put a fan on it?
The machine is pretty responsive, the boot time from power on is pretty slow with the vista loading bar doing about 30 passes, but the vista logon time is less than 10 seconds.
Ahhh well back to my trusty X38-DQ6.
