Ohhh ok, I noticed while my board was booting up that the chipset/ system never went over 45c so I guess I had nothing to worry about, go figure

As to the mounting of the two case fans I used the clips for the one, and then used zip ties on the second and I must say that sucker is not coming off ^_^.

I know what you mean about the Geni settings, I've never seen so many options, but its awsome !!!! Still tweaking memory, found that to be the hardest part so far, 4 ghz was to easy to hit, its getting past 4.2 that seems difficult as so many people have been reporting :P

but really this is quite simple

eva does one step even further which i think is better
before he even enters windows he will run memtest86+
I agree that your explanation was not rocket science or quantum physics but I am just lazy enough to cut and paste instead of typing that all out every time I come across someone with a similar issue. I don't post often here anymore, much less anywhere else, but the laziness in me is coming out

Just got a little OCZ Vertex 30GB and aligned the ofsett to 128 sectors which seams to give the best performance, and I'm preparing to set it up as system-disk for W7.

My SATA ports is in IDE mode now, and i tried changing it to RAID and AHCI, but both gives BSOD on Vista boot-up which is running on my gold old HDD. I guess i need a fresh-install of Vista to fix this problem, any workaround?

I'm under the impression that it is better to run the Vertex on RAID-mode or is it better with AHCI on DFI UT?, anybody has tried both to give some feedback?

    4gb is the correct one
    cpuz reads from spd

    well vtt issue is first
    second would be uncore speed.
u can detect stock 4gb or at overclock??

if at stock time to rma the board or ram.

4Gb both at stock values and oc, nothing changes. How can i check if its the board or the ram? Trying one domm at the time is the solution to find if any its tricky?

    and one ud4

dfi never knew this could happen.
    but its the board bro.

only way u want to check easy test on another board
after seeing this a few times.. on stock voltages.. see it straight point and scream at the mobo

oh yeah just to double confirm
    ure running in A1,B1,C1 right
the config is from the nearest to the cpu

Yep modules on green slots. IF one module was dead would it boot in windows? If i try one dimm at a time and it boot windows with all of them seperatelly but with all three of them boots with 4gb, then its a mobo problem? If i cant boot with one of them then it is the dimm. Is this right?

yup if one dimm is dead no boot for that dimm at a time testing all of them
if u boot with all the 3 and still end up with 4gb

so far this seem to be the common case.

the next step is the hardest and rarest and requires u to eliminate the mobo first. that means degraded/faulty rams.
not so common for tri-channel compared to the first two when all was set not more than 1.65v read in bios

eliminate the basic dram whether its a dead stick first
if all the single sticks work
then if nothing then retest with another mobo..sure u got some friends with a x58 and is running fine with tri-channel stick
heck if in jungle malaysia i can find forumers that lives nearby. sure u can in Greece although ure case would be more complicated if ure living in one of the islands.

if thats ok also then mobo is the prob... if thats not ok.. then its the dram.
    ps ure so calm..just saying
i would be pissed. but cant help it.. ure really calm
dfi x58 ut is not cheap and the ram is freaking expensive.

Good possibility but could also be the processor.

    praz
think this is the first case i ever heard for dfi. was there any before??
asus was freaking common on all the range of x58
Haven't seen the issue with DFI yet. Which is why I think it may be a memory controller issue if the ram checks out ok.

No friends with X58 atm. That sucks. And tbh i m not calm. I just cant yell and spit out bad words for my bad luck. You all dont have to read me writing a sentence with 10 f* words in it But trying 1 stick at time the two could boot vista. One stuck at CF code. So i guess i have a dead one here
