Appologies for the Nob question. Iam thinking of changing my Asus Maximus to ASUS Striker 2 Extreme with the puprose of running 2x gtx8800 OC in SLI on it.
(getting cheap on the vga) and i also have the chipset for watercolling all the mosfet, cpu, nb,sb ready. so i dont want to pay the extra $ or £ for new hardware.
Does this board gets 450 FSB? or iam going to hit the wall.
iam thinking of getting my CPU 8x450 QX6700 (runs 100% on my current setup)
Will have to get new memory though. Any suggestions are welcome.

I have the Q9650 at 450 Bus. I can't say it'll do it with the QX6700, not sure I've seen anyone running that combo.

Wow Trigger it takes that much cpu voltage to run at 4.0 ghz ? seems high.

    yep, 1.33 bios with LLC enabled = 1.44 1.42 cpu-z

1.36 bios with LLC disabled this board overvolts like mad.

I'm using BIOS 1202. It is what it is, could also be the board reporting it incorrectly.

    can be done

Neo Rtr, Can be done, i dont have a quad, but im sure you can do it, but will definitly take some work to get there, have to play with voltages, gtls.

I would get some crucial ballistic ddr3 1600mgz or crucial ballistic 2000mgz kit, im running the 2000 kit, great stuff. Getting your quad to where you want it will be easier with 2gigs of ram, more hard with 4 gigs of ram.
