Well, you didn't answer to my statement, which was why things are not OK when Apple does them, but are OK when someone else does.
What you are doing is not criticising the product, but the behaviour of the company.
Yet again, you're stating mac-users are uninformed, ignorant dumb f*cks who would've chosen differently if they knew better. In fact, you're wrong. Many know they're paying more than the hardware is worth, I did as well.
I'm a moderator in one of the biggest german websites about hardware with forum and print magazine and many of the moderators and editors own Macs. So we're dumb and don't know anything about hardware?![]()
It's not the same product, period. Please, please please please compare equal products. Interesting to see how you want to compare an OEM-build computer with a custom build one with a FREE OS.
Show me a Dell, HP, FSC computer with two xeons and Windows for 1000 USD less than the Mac Pro. Then you've got a valid point.
If you take the T5400 of Dell for instance, pack into it two 2,83 GHz Quadcores, 2 GB of RAM, a 320 GB HDD and you're at: 2800 USD (see attachment), so at the cost of a Mac Pro via apple.com (you can get it cheaper if you're student of course). But, you get a display for free (special offer), a NVS 290 instead of a 2600XT and 3 years of warranty. Is that worth 1000 USD?
I never doubted Macs are more expensive then the competitors, but the other OEMs aren't way much cheaper.
I really have to agree with InCore. If you don't like Apple, fine, I don't care. But stop telling mac-users that they are stupid, just because they paid more money for something than it would've cost from a different manufacturer. There are tons of analogies with cars, displays, consumer electronics and so on, where you pay for the looks and the name.
In fact, I can't stand the self-aggrandizement of Apple (the company) myself, but I enjoy using my MacBook. Why don't you think that this is possible?
