The new lighting is really nice Mick

Some subtle chamfering along the case's edge might help (seems 'visually too sharp')

Thanks Metric, I would love to be able to soften the edges, but don't forget I'm using SketchUp. Although it can be done, it's not easy; especially with the number of edges in this render.

I haven't got a clue how to use kerkythea, barely know anything about sketchup, it snaps to everything all the time so I can't get real thin stuff sometimes, no idea what I'm doing.... but I managed to get this cheesy render out with some funky pink background

Now to see if I can figure out how to get real materials and a scene and all that

Hard to tell but I actually got the edges for the O ring groove rounded on the outside

I jizzed in my pants after seeing that one metric........... It does look a bit on the shallow side. after working with evil's barbs I had to make mine considerably thicker to allow for them.........

After rendering, I realized that the ground plane I set up was clipping about half off the base off :S

    Here's the correct one:

Those interested in a more 'hands on' viewing of my models, I'll start posting them as 3D PDF files as well. Here's one of my most recent: https://dl.getdropbox.com/u/2028/Xtr...s/XFlo_001.PDF

This thread is amazing, absolutely stunning! Does anyone have any plans to put any of these into production, even as a one-off or limited edition?

Stop making renders of stuff that I then really, really want and can't have!

Ok, I admit it. I'm a junkie and can't stop checking in here even though I know it's going to break my heart.
