Hey Sangrak...do you know the batch number for your CPU?

The Q9650 thread say's batches with B are best. Only A batches available to me locally. I don't want to pull the trigger on a crappy overclocker.

Well, the box has a 'Bx' on the code, so I'm assuming it's a batch B version.

Edit: on second thought, it's definitely a batch A. Doesn't matter, it OC's really well. I really don't think you have to concern yourself over it. The temps on the cores are really nice, even when running high volts.

Ordered the chip today, I'll have it tomorrow. I have to take what I get, not too concerned now. Thanks. I pray I can get 4.0ghz out of it with 8GB's anything more would be nice but not required, If I get less I'll be disappointed for sure.

Don't think you'll have a problem getting to 4ghz. From what I've read, it's a pretty common OC with this chip. Look at me. I'm always unlucky with the cpu's I get and I'm able to reach 4ghz on air, no problem. You've got water cooling so you should be able to hit a far greater OC than me.

    hey guys

4ghz is no problem trigger, this board and that cpu walk in the park. That aint my buddy with the ram, i have just seen that he is selling all kinds of his stuff lately, and i noticed that the dominators he is selling did 2150mgz on his 790i board, and there tripple channel, but the bad thing about it, cas 9, im not interested in anything cas 9, cas 8 i would have bought them, i dont know much about the spd thing your talking about.

You going to have to play with the gtl voltages for sure, quads overclock very differently than dual cores.
