So that's no memory or mofset direct contact? or am I misataken - is there memory contact but no mofset contact?

This sort of thing will heat up the inside of a case - though on a workbench kind of setup I can see it being useful. A bit late though.

I would actually buy this, my computer is spread over the right side of my desk. The only problem is that the x2 cooler isn't that bad, noise wise. Other components in my rig make far more noise.

I found, when I had my pc spread over my desk, that when it mattered when the fan was loud (ie. gaming), I couldn't hear over the game-music or game-sounds anyway. The annoying whine that some cards make (mine included, unfortunately) is far less agreeable.

55€ is way too much money to give for a single graphics card cooler.

    I disagree!
That single graphics card is a monster and it's stock cooler sux! It's loud and not very effective. This is what actually most of us were waiting fore. Else we were forced to use water cooling which is 4x the price of this cooler.

no kidding. this product will undoubtedly sell terribly. the demand for 4870x2's has dropped dramatically. everyone is buying a GTX295, or is waiting for RV790.

    1. Prove it.

After I installed one of the 8800gtx versions of the accelero I thought it would be loud. I had no doubt that it would cool my graphics card well but at the expense of dumping heat into the case. However I was proven wrong. maybe its the case helping too with airflow but my nb, sb, general motherboard temp and cpu did not see any rise in temps with them fitted.

So I wouldn't go jumping the gun and say they work but at a cost of something else. Most things in life are like that. You overclock a lower cpu to a more expensive model speed. Great you've saved on cpu buying cost. You run the risk of burning it out and reducing it's life, heat produced is more, another heatsink fan maybe required etc etc. List goes on.

I'm guessing this is way better than what Asus has...

    http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16814121294

Cause i read some reviews and they were saying their card isn't any cooler than stock. Who knows, I would put my money on the AC version tho...

AC has very nice products. I know because i have tested on on my previous xfx 8800gt. At load with stock cooling temps was around 90+C. After installing AC Accelero with 2x92mm fans and some copper HS on mem max temp was 40-41C with room temp at 28-29C. But tbh i think the release of this product is kind of late.

This should work pretty well from what we've seen it can do before.

Though I very much doubt 41 celciuse under load specially with the heat from 2 cores.

The asus tri-fan is just 3 fans over 2 aluminum blocks like the stock cooler which is why it isn't that much better.

If the 4870X2 needs 3 fans then would the Asus EAH4870X2 be a better deal over the stock fan version?

Interesting, however I'd like to know what's with the GDDR/PWM cooling though.

At least I learned something now, I wont ever buy a reference card anymore. Ill wait for Palit/Gainward next time for improved PCB's and cooling solutions. Aftermarket coolers take way too much time to hit the market

    2. a lot, but highend cards like this get watercooled quite a bit more than say.. a HD4850.

    1. Needs numbers not common sense. 295GTX price/perfomance is awful and it barely edge 4870X2.
    2. Waercooled 4870X2 represent like what? 15% people.

ppl who buy aftermarket heatsinks and expensive graphics cards dont care about price, just performance.
