Not that good those volts are for 450x9, but still better than my wolfdale. I was hoping for 475x9 with these voltages, but I have yet to fine tune anything. I just threw in some ballpark voltages. It posted at alot less and has been priming for about a half hour now. *knocks on wood*

not having too much luck with this L820B033 Q9650

    am stable at 1.3v @ 4ghz

but with 8 multi & 500fsb it won't get past bios; which brings me to my question. I've tried as far as 1.4vcore to get it stable but no luck; but am able to do 480fsb 8.5m @ 1.4 The obvious is my subsystem like NB FSB etc but I was stable running Large FFT's at a 6multi & 500 fsb with 1.3v...

so, is 1.4v too much for 24/7 on custom H20 capping at about 60c-load?

In bios, idle, load? Is loadline enabled? I would say no either way, though. I ran my e8400 around that for a while with no voltage degredation at all. Im priming away for 5 hours now at 445x9 with 1.328 vcore now, 1.39 idle. Vdroop is huge on my board. I'm topping out at 53c on two cores and 48c on the other two. I really need to do a washer mod on my TRUE. Ill be swaping out my psu soon. Ill do it then.

what chipset are you on? I think 1.4v is fine 24/7 as long as your temps are under control I've been crunching 24/7 for a few weeks now at 1.4v/4300mhz with my highest core @ 50C and I have had no issues at all

To: Bababoooey (LOL) forgot about that guy... but currently I've changed my vcore to 1.368v; fsbT to 1.3650v; NB to 1.51v; on a Maximus II Formula 1901 bios set to 480fsb & 8.5multi and it just did 17minutes of Large FFt's prime and am testing small FFT's currently... working my way up to 500fsb & 8 multi

i can't remember any of the other settings but I haven't messed with the GTL's or much more

EDIT: sorry SNiiPE DoGG. A P45 Asus Maximus II Formula board

I would be much more worried about that vNB, why so high? Playing with my gtls made a huge difference with stability. Just be sure to set your PLL manually as well. I wouldn't worry untill you stsrt to get near 1.45 VCC for 24/7 useage, but thats just my opinion.

No, you'd have a 3160/12mb/1333 E0 Yorkie with a 9.5 multi.. that clocks like hell!
That "partial" shot was on air, on an old Asus P5K Premium.

    did short stability testing ...

with ~ 20min of large FFT's and ~ 20 min of small FFT's things went smooth at these settings

    vcore: 1.36875v
    PLL: 160600v
    FSB termination: 1.36500v
    NB: 1.51075

    480fsb & 8.5multi

I'm running a 120x38mm fan over the NB area

btw, this is on custom H20 ...didn't know if i mentioned that...

EDIT: failed OCCT - back to the drawing board

Is that Q9750 legit? It would explain the binning on these chips recently.

Legit is a funny word..but it is a 3160/12mb/1333 E0 Yorkie and those numbers are legit and you guys know I'm no great bencher so you'd probably do better with it.

Hey can you just flip up that fan grate and cook me up some burgerzzzz.

So how do you like the extreme compared to our beloved UD3P?

    Thats cool.
I also thought I should add that my chip does have a stuck sensor. I think that Im stable at 445x9 with 1.328 vcc full load 6 hours prime (so far). I might tighten some timings and run IBT soon. I may have to play around with lineload enabled. I was hoping for 475x9 for 24/7.

I've been benching a Q9450 and P5E3 Premium since July 2008 not wanting to jump to i7 right away. I just pulled the trigger and bought a Q9650 + P5Q3 Deluxe WiFi @N board, G.Skill 2x2GB 1600Mhz 4GBPI Black and eVGA GTX285 from Newegg yesterday. I bought the P5Q3 Deluxe because my current media server is running an Intel DG33FB/E6850 which I was going to throw my Q9450 in when the Q9650 arrives but as far as Intels site goes the DG33FB does not support my Q9450. It says the board supports QUADS up to 1066FSB.

So, I will bench the hell out of the Q9650 on P5E3 Premium and P5Q3 Deluxe and will then keep the best performing board in my main rig and put the other with the Q9450 in my media server.

I should have all the parts by Tuesday and will start posting results in this thread. I have all kinds of memory to test: two sets of G.Skill 2x1GB 1600Mhz HZ D9GTS, Mushkin 2x2GB 1600Mhz D9GTS and just purchased a set of G.Skill 2x2GB 1600Mhz 4GBPI Black.

I have had great success with my Q9450/P5E3 Premium overclocking it up to 515FSB, 512FSB benchable all with Vcore at or below 1.45v. I have heard alot of people stating P45 alows higher FSB for 45nm Quads so thats why I went with that Board.

Got my new Q9650 the other day, batch is L826A965.

First try is this, its 100% P95 stable for 12 hours, I just didnt save a screenshot. I might can get it lower than 1.264 with some additional tweaking just havent done alot since ive only had it for a day

Validated @ 4.6, just set a random voltage to boot up.

    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=508274

Posted @ 4.8 but wouldnt boot windows, used the same voltages i did for 4.6 but was too tired to try anymore. Ill post again if I can get validated @ 4.8 (i should be able to) everything in BIOS is on auto except for MCH core/Dram/Vcore and LLC and I only used 1.300 NB for 4.6ghz and 1.472v.

For a quick initial overclock that looks pretty good. I'm loving the temps and vcore compared to my Q9450. I'm sure with some more testing/tweaking you can raise that overclock and lower that vcore a little.

    Any Vantage, 3D06 and SuperPI?
