My chip as stuck sensors too, and I can bench at 4.5GHz (with less than 1.5v cpu) on air so it's not exactly a duff chip. I considered sending it back but decided it wasn't worth the hassle. Once I start stress testing they all level out at the top, but 3 of them don't go under 40C. Luckily, one of them works all the way down to my idle which is about 27C.

My first Q9650 was vid 1.25 bought back in Sept had no stuck sensors but the MB killed two of its cores. The one I replaced it with in Oct also has a vid 1.25 but it has two stuck sensors. It seems to clock ok see sig below. I am not sure the sensors are designed well but as long as it clocks ok I am fine with it.

jor3lBR,awesome!that looks like a very fun board.i noticed that it has more ref voltage settings, does it help with the lower voltages maybe?keep us posted

Looking forward to seeing a 4.6+Ghz stable Jor![]()
And regarding the stuck sensor issue core 0 for me never goes below 38c the others are fine though. All the cores catch up to each other during load.
I overclocked another Q9650 a couple of days ago and there were 2 cores that were stuck from memory never falling below 37c. It overclocked well though hitting 490x9 Prime blend stable (overnight) on an X48 mobo
Nice Jor, seems that board goes ok for a A2 rev. Pity is has better VRM for cpu/ram but only an A2 NB, I'd hazard a guess the UD3P will be better than it based on that and from results Ive seen on other forums.
mreld2r - there is only 2 cpu refs as opposed to one, its actually easier to set up. One is way too limiting, there should ideally be four, like on my M2F.

i installed my new power supply and it seems i was able to lower some volts and still be stable.![]()

MY HEATWARE 76-0-0
Well I got mine a week ago it was in the old big box:
L824B277
09/17/08
one stuck sensor at 37
everything at stock 400x9 @3600 with 1.16 vcore prime stable so far will try more soon
does any one have this chip with asus rampage formula if so can you give me setting for 4GHz 24/7 to try![]()
Thanks to ATI the Prices are The Way they are Meant to be.
WFDragon, its the one in my sig.i just never changed it til now.i was using an antec basiq 550w.which was good but i did notice while under load the 12v would drop from 12.14 to 11.49.with this new one ,at idle its 12.51 and under load it drops to 12.49.i think it is a little more stable and might be why i can now run lower volts on the vcore without errors.also this new one has a single 12v rail.the antec was 3 or 4 12v rails.

I tried at 450x9 with 1.25V set in bios which is for me around 1.21 real and it booted just fineI have the exact same batch and pack date as you, still in the box though, I am waiting for some more parts
How does 450x9 handle?but then the Windows BSOD but it need a little tweaking i guess but it looks promising so far I don't want to overclock straight I will try to clock it more in a few days

Thank you my friend!
I'm still testing but it seams to be a very good board with low volts all around, I have to test the UD3P and this one further 2 days is nothing to compare them.
Thanks mate, yes it is a fun board but it needs a LCC mod that I'm going to do today. I noticed that too I needed less volts but I need to play with the UD3P with the new stuff Ilearned from this board to compare them
Thank Cryptik! Well I like the A3 on the NB too bad the Extreme is A2 but it's not showing it's age. I like the Extreme cause it has no bugs at all (5:6 strap/mch ref voltage) only problem is that it needs a pot mod to reduce vdroop. I think this board can fly with the mod but again I need more time testing both to really compare.
Hey Kill_a_wat please take a look at my thread here:
4906Mhz Benching and Soft Stability tests:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=217439
I did it just for the fun on a Snow Day at work.
Could not Prime95 cause it always blow the poor $61 WC system away but I did 2 SuperPi32m runs, HyperPi 4 threads, 3Dmark01, 05 and 06, wPrime stability, played Crysis for 25min and ET Quake Wars.
It seamed to me very solid for day to day use and the temps on that cheap Domino where amazing.
But I'll get back to Prime95 when I get better cooling working!

Got one here on a 790i Ultra doin 4.191GHz on 1.248Vcore under an Enzotech Ultra-X(Air)
9x465
1.1875VID
The most amazing thing about this chip is that it's only needing 1.15VTT![]()

Your scaring me here, I just got a chip from the same batch with no stuck sensors, luckily as long as she clocks well (a stuck sensor would be a good excuse to RMA a sorry clocker). I had an e8400 C0 with the same VID, a stuck sensor, and it was a sorry clocker. Im hoping that this one is a decent clocker. Ill find out tomorrow when I get the chance to do some testing.

The XS WCG team needs your support.
A good project with good goals.
Come join us,get that warm fuzzy feeling that you've done something good for mankind.
Don't worry, these things are all hit and miss and I do not think batch number means much. My replacement should be here Monday.
I think your joking but if not and Intel made a Q9750 you would have a 3.2ghz stock chip stuck with a 8x multi right?

I just started to oc my chip. So far it seems like a decent clocker for a chip with a 1.25 VID, better than my e8400 atleast. Ive allways been worried about loadline calibration. Would I be better off (safer) running my chip as it is now with loadline disabled 1.42 vcore in bios and 1.32 full load after vdroop or turning on loadline with a lower voltage for 24/7 useage? The spikes worry me.
