Yeas stable 533 for a quad is gonna be hard to do. Dont get me wrong, it can be done if you have the right hardware....and knowledge. I cant wait to give sombody elses template a try, as mine personal attempts were unsuccesful. 8gb of ram doesnt make it any easier. I'd love to have my 8gb runnin at 1066 1:1. That oughta make for some good bandwidth. While i wait for a template i'll try my luck again. Good luck!

My Phase Unit just arrived along with it a E8500

    Heres my first quick test.

I'v never used a dual or 45nm before so i'm still learning a bit. I know the E8500 is a C0, but i got it really cheap off the builder.

I've heard that the UD3P only had 4 Fan Connectors, I was thinking about getting the Antec 900-2 and utilising all available fans, obviously there's more than four, so what can be done to connect them all?

connect the extras directly to the psu.because one of the fan headers is the cpu,so you only have three left.

Will I not be able to control those fan's speed if I connect it to the PSU?

Coming to think of it, what's the maximum number of Fan Connectors you'll find on a P45 Board?

(MCH Ref .70% AKA .70 in ET)

I don't think this is correct. Based on what I saw in screenshots here, it would actually be:

    1.3Vtt + 0.884 MCHref in BIOS = 0.816 in ET
    1.3Vtt + 0.91 MCHref in BIOS = 0.84 in ET
    1.3Vtt + 0.936 MCHref in BIOS = 0.864 in ET

    1.2 - stock Vtt
    x - current Vtt
y - MCH ref shown in ET
z - MCH ref real (the one in BIOS)

    z=x*y/1.2

I could be wrong, but that's consistent with the screenshots.

i'm looking into getting this mobo paired with a q9400 and gskill 2x2gb pi black. i skimmed most of the pages for answers but couldn't fine it, so here's my questions:

    1) from purely an OC'ing perspective, is there advantages in picking the UD3P over the UD3R? i don't need the extra features of xfire, dual LAN port, or dolby sound included with the UD3P.
    2) is the 1:1 memory divider unstable compared to the 5:6?
    3) what memory are you guys using to get 1200mhz 24/7 stability?
    4) i'm assuming the gskill F2-6400CL4D-4GBPI-B 2x2gb black pi series will be compatible?
    5) no major fsb wall in the q9400 compared to q9550 or q9650 right? only difference is multiplier and cache right? i should be able to hit at least 480fsb with this q9400 right?

    thanks!

    1) I have both boards and I've found no difference in overclocking.
    2) 1:1 has been stable for me, but the G.Skill Pi Black aren't phenomenal overclockers, though I do have 4 x 2GB running happily at 900 4-4-4-12
    3) Can't help ya there.
    4) Yes....see answer two
    5) Can't help ya there either, I've only run dual cores, but 533 was no problem with them.

well i did some fan rearranging and after i got done i noticed my motherboard temp sensor was 10c higher than before.so i set out to find out where it was located and im pretty sure it is somewhere near the southbridge heatsink.when i sprayed some condensed air on the heatsink it self it rapidly dropped about 3c-4c.when i aimed a 4000rpm fan directly at it temps just kept dropping.

Tried running 8x500 at my vCPU that I normally run at 4GHz and it passed. So I thought, "Maybe I should go lower?"

What'd you know, I was able to go a smidgen lower.

Hi guys, im thinking of getting a GA-EP45T-UD3R pretty soon. I have some questions

    1. Are there any problems with the DDR3 version of the board?
    2. What are the differences between revision 1.0 and 1.1?

If i have any more questions i will ask

    Cheers,
    Oz
