Crapshoot it is. Still, it sucks.Although when I turned my HSF around and got 3.6GHz stable a while back, I was also able to reduce VCORE. So 1.48v is it. I'm on par with highoctane now I think. So I guess I can't claim worst 940.
I do get a hell of a droop though, I saw my VCORE dip all the way down to 1.45 at load. I'd love to test my CPU in another board just to see if it changes anything. Can't do that without spending money though. I dunno if my mobo has a voltage regulation problem or what. I read VCORE droop causes a lot of BSOD, which is the problem I get. Hmmm, those Asus boards look nice...
EDIT: I noticed an audible buzzing when running games...
