I'm talking about the SB as i know it would not fit the NB.
Looks like Koolance have stuff that would fit everything as they are in the MR2 list.

You asked if you needed to Flash Bios for Phenom II so I asked what Bios and you are going on about the actual PLCC Flash chip........why?

Once again which Bios does the board have installed on it?

No idea as there is no label on the board to tell me as i thought the D686 was the version.
Any way in going to DL the latest beta in preparation.
If the PII does not post off the bat & upgrade bios, then i will put the PI in upgrade bios then PII

    ....Urgent Warning....

Do Not Push hard on Phenom II chips with Current D.F.I Beta Bios!

I have Popped 2 Chips as they both will not overclock at same clock speed , Voltage config in Bios and this is confirmed with D.F.I 790FX-M2R System and D.F.I JR 790GX System Both have own P.S.U Silverstone in sig and PC=Power & Cooling 750w silencer on JR 790GX

I have tried each chip in each system multiple time with different Ram and lowering clock speed with same voltage

I am a reasonable overclocker and never spike voltage to my chips as most do on the forum I go for decent amount of MHZ at Stock Vcore or Slightly above

The brief Times that I have doing testing for beta bios has been never above 1.44 Vcore on ant occasion!

    The one Phenom II 940 BE did 3600mhz @ 1.36875 NB @ 2600mhz 2.2GHZ HT

    2nd Phenom 940 II 3500mhz @ 1.36875 NB @2600mhz HT 1,8ghz

Now Also I run My systems on a High Quality 980 Watt UPS so no component is ever subjected to dirty or unclean Power at and time and yes I have tried Both systems plugged directly into the wall outlet to see if it was the UPS...........It's Not!

So I have been ranting and Raving that the Voltage tables in Bios for D.F.I AMD Boards are in really bad need of attention .......Heres your Proof D.F.I ~!!!!!
Now considering that there is not even a adequate Official Stable PHENOM II Bios and 12/01/2008 Official Kills Onboard LAN in Vista thats not even a option and it should be removed!

So after 1 year and 2 months of this B.S if I don't see a Good quality Bios for your AMD Product I will no longer Patronize you company and buy your products! I have been a full time endorser and supporter of your Products for years Now and I Recommend and Build Intel / AMD systems for customers with nothing but D.F.I Motherboards and I see nothing in return (Quality AMD Bios)..its like you don't even care anymore................What the hell is up with that:?

Funny I notice the Intel Bios from D.F.I are superb in every sense of the word and Bios Masterpieces....Why not the same for your AMD Motherboards?

So end result for me is two popped BRAND NEW CPU's because you people cannot do your job properly because I suppose you just don't care because AMD does not generate the revenue that Intel Boards do.....well that not acceptable in my eyes and if that is your stance on this issue then well you should not be selling AMD Motherboards and jeopardizing peoples hardware because of Half Assed Bios Programming!

I May not be FUGGER but I am well enough Known that I will end up Taking Multiple people away from buying you Motherboards if this ends poorly.

1/21/2009 Judging by the ripple in OCCT Graph that is the cause but without oscilloscope it cannot be confirmed but I see that present on some voltage set increasing up the voltage scale in Bios ....some settings are good and don't exhibit excessive ripple where allot do.

If I had Bios other then whats available I would share you know that ....no one else though.

Kind of hard when only choices fOr Phenom II all SUCK

whether we like it or not we are forced into Beta Bios and that in itself is not good for customers buying Phenom II and D.F.I Mobo ......really Really Bad Actually! For us its different we know what we are getting into before hand and we know what we are doing but in all of the D.F.I Boards I have owned over the years I have always Tested Bets Candidates and Moded Bios and never until now has any Harm come to my system or components ...........At this point as active as I have been with this board since before release up till present day I am really starting to question my loyalty to D.F.I the JR 790GX Bios is Dance You Stinking Banana's...Dance too!

ok... i can imagine... thats what i encountered with other bios versions too... some vcore settings overvolt a lot...

my chips both did survive 1,66v for a short time but chilled with water + cold air and dont know about ripples...

    bad...

When I say the Beta Bios suck I don't mean because I cannot get 4ghz thats not what I am looking for when testing I am looking for Stability in Bios Quality and clean uninterrupted Voltage allocation through out thats what going to enable high Overclock and Record Breaking Scores I take quality over quantity any day of the week

I know that D.F.I will probably hate me for what I said and call me a YANKEE PIG but I speak the truth and having lived on 2 of the Hawaiian Islands I have first hand Knowledge and experience dealing with the Asian culture so I know my comment at times are not well received but if they were doing their job right this wouldn't have to be said now would it?

dont get me wrong, i did not speak about hitting 4ghz or sth but about overvoltage with some settings. the 1,66v were blasted through the chip with only 1,6v set in bios. thats only an example...

i can imagine that certain steps in the vcore table kinda have wrong values or produce some problems along with the digital pwm section, i dont know.. one has to consider no other bios has these tiny steps in vcore table, for what these boards are loved but perhaps thats causing problems too, like some interference with certain pwm frequencies or such.. i'm sure dfi did not test all of these settings yet because they are too many..

The point is that this is the reason why people buy DFI Boards that and build quality........and its not like its not done for Intel Bios Written because it is. I have used DFI Boards for years and I know and I am accustomed to getting from D.F.I Bips Quality and this aint it by a loooong shot.

Sorry to read about that BE

You're the one who made me stick trough all DFI boards thus far really. I was really happy with the M2R, besides the really annoying PWM squeak rage. From start this board had issues with BIOS's. At least, the good BIOS's can be counted on one single hand

The 790FXB-M2RS got the NB/HT MOSFET pop, which made me afraid of running Prime95 ever again. Still have to get RMA sorted for it lol.

The 790FXB-M2RSH seems to be holding thus far but Ive no idea if it's going to last long. Although in OCCT I see no ripple, only a 0.014Vdrop.

DFI is indeed taking a lot of piss. They manage to release about 10 boards for each Intel chipset, all wioth perfect BIOS's but the very few they've for AMD are one by one retarded They didnt even bother with a nV780A board or anything, only one UT board. As you said once, those DK boards for the AMD platform dont even deserve the naming of DFI or Lanparty, they're no where in line with the good old nF4 boards

I can only say one thing, if the M2RSH craps out, Im done with DFI for a very long time. I can understand due to the general impopularity of AMD that there's less effort put into R&D for AMD platforms, resulting in the lack of say UT boards or Asus' ROG boards, but this doesnt justify the lack of a stable and good working BIOS
