actually I was testing with superpi and at 3.9ghz....and increasing ht/nb after a certain point I was actually losing performance.
I was doing that and had some strange results, in both ht nb set the same, results in 3dm06
2ghz ht/nb cpu score 5298
2.2ghz....................5373 running only the cpu bench, but when I ran the whole test 5502
2.4ghz................... 5469 only cpu test.........about the same running full benchmark
2.6ghz and 2.8ghz.......I saw absolutly no increase in performance .....cpu score was in the 54xx range.
Never did I hit cpu score of 55xx at any other setting than that 2.2ghz run
but lets think about this now.........ddr 2 may not be able to take advantage of the ht/nb speeds above 2400/2600mhz
this scenario reminds me exactly of what happens in 3dm06 when you have a major bottlneck if the cpu is too weak no matter how much you overclock the graphics card your score wont go up.
could this happen between the NB and memory speed?? will ddr3 let ht/nb performance increase. Or am I totally wrong and the problem was the cpu speed not utilizing the ht/nb speeds??
Or could I have just fudged up the whole test
lots of questions![]()
