I loaded f6 yesterday. No difference for me, as my issue with ram slots is still present. I emailed tech support at gigabyte and waiting a response.

bluestang,i never had this problem before.it all started when i flashed to F8a bios. once i rebooted i got this annoying little message say that my gigabyte application has found an update and i need to go to the gigabyte website and update it.well i downloade the newest version of ET6 and tried doing an update install but got wierd erros.so i uninstall the old one and installed the new one,but it still keeps popping up after every boot.

Agreed. I like f7 better anyway.

I had the same problem with F8a. I downloaded the latest ET6 too. I believe everybody using F8a is having it.

Has anyone used a Scythe Infinity cooler on the UD3R or UD3P? If so, any problems fitting it?

here's a story BuGjAE, i used to experience similar issues when i had tried to get an e8400 555fsb stable on a certain P45-based board (not this UD3R) and i found the board seems very picky about CPU/NB ref. setting, once i found a good working spots (i mean otherwise the board refuses to boot) for 525fsb which's my starting cpu fsb overclock, i could continue using the same CPU and NB GTL_ref values but kept increasing vcore voltage and i still could get a stable computer til 542fsb, and then no matter what i increased the vcore, vtt, nb, vdimm to, i couldnt not stable 550fsb. then it took me a long while after that for a 555fsb stable. if i still remember, as i never wrote those setting down on paper, on the certain board i seemed to require setting 64% for my CPU and NB was 59.5-60% at the time.

for the UD3R and/or UD3P i couldn’t be much help since i have never actually tried to get a real stable with the same overclock on my UD3R board.
but i think it's time to touch it and to try with a different GTL_ref. setting.
i think, it's all possible, that's why the higher (and lower) CPU/MCH ref. value setting do exists in bios.
i recall you have made a stable 533-538fsb on this cpu with your previous ram kit before, so besides if the ram was holding everything back, it's possible that you are required to use an entire different cpu pll, vtt, mch, GTL_ref. values, etc.

i seem to always want to flash bios back to F4 (i actually like F3 version if it had an ability to save and to retrieve a saved cmos setting profiles from USB drives),

i think F4 is the best bios file for me already, however, i will continue to try newer bios files at whenever gigabyte releases them and once i don't find an importance improvement in bios at my end i will keep on going back to F4.

btw, i havent used the board's Q-flash utility on this UD3R's yet, i use DOS flash progarm for my UD3R's bios flashing and have been flashing the bios quite a bit of times without a single bad flash bios. Q-flash utility seem to be reliable as well, i used to use the utility all the time on my previous gigabyte's, it's just i always have an USB drive attached to the UD3R board and this drive already contain the DOS flash progarm.
