The TJ07 tray is made from an unknown type of material. Not even pencil strokes stay on it. Powdercoat holds fantastic, but it seems that you suffer from the same strange material reactions that cause pencil strokes etc. not to work with this material. Maybe they got the pieces from Area51 ... and made the trays out of it. To me it seems so.

You might have also noticed, that this material is much harder to drill.

    Nils,

I was a bit difficult to drill. The only thing that confuses me is that the primer went on fine. I will chemically strip it tomorrow and start over maybe I will use aircraft paint this time.

The MB tray has been stripped and I will attempt another go at painting it tomorrow. I took Nils advice and went to NASA and it just so happened they had a gallon of black Area 51 available.

    Then this arrived!

He overnighted it last Thursday and U.S. customs had fun with it.

That is a Hammond box or it was a Hammond box. Charles attached a note stating that the extra screws were inside the boxes. Each box had two screws securing the lid. Our customs people couldn't figure this out they pried it open...BRILLIANT! I will sleep better tonight..

    More good stuff.

What can you do with a Hammond box you ask? Of course I have to sleeve the wires and change the screws to black ones.

I have been wanting to take out the Feser so I did. It is resting upon two Hammond boxes.

    Pump, PSU and the Feser.

    Top view.

The M|M midplate should be here by Thursday. Charles and I decided we would ship it to Iran first that way the box would not be subject to racial profiling.

Thanks Charles you gear is truly outstanding although i will probably be cussing you when I start sleeving!

    Nice update Rocky!

I can't believe they'd molest a poor Hammond box rather than remove the two freakin' Phillips head screws. I won't say any more on the subject - they may be reading...

I'm glad that you finally got your stuff at least and look forward to your next update!

Hey, what's that white box you're shooting in? I needs one!

Thanks Charles. I will use that Hammond on the I/O at the front of the case but I was wondering the same thing. It had two screws in the top and yet they used a screwdriver to pry it open?

As for the white box, I will e-mail you a pic. It cost me all of $7.00 at hobby lobby.

Charles: Next time put an instruction manual for the customs in it. Maybe a screwdriver too. And don't forget the gloves that you should attach on the outside - that they have to wear.

Good pictures Rocky! It looks like all your parts are arriving in style, unfortunately Mr. Hammond got violated.

    Nils,
They wouldn't read the instructions and they would think that the gloves are 10 detachable condoms.

    Problem solved! From this..

    To this...

More painting to come as this arrived today, thanks Charles

I have to plan out the placement for the pump and rad in order to drill holes in the midplate.
I should be able to start having some fun over the next few days.

Just a small update today. I drilled out (1/8") the midplates to accept the black rivets that Charles supplied (he doesn't miss a thing) and the riveting will take place tomorrow. I did receive my backplate for the Apogee i7 so the HD Di will be mounted tomorrow as well along with the MB to the tray. I also had enough time to paint too!

This came in handy, thanks Gary

I have special plans for this.....

    Tune in tomorrow.
