Been that way since they went with IMC's, wasn't prior to 754.
If you remember BH was the best for getting around the coldbug so BW wasn't to far a distant cousin, BB sounds like a much earlier version which could explain its dislike for cold.
Voltage requirements could have been due to something else with your chips......remember the letter on the PCB
Appears amd is still making T stamps in the PCB still, I would need pics of other users chips but i'm betting they still stamp N on some of the pcb's as well.
