I don't want to troll and spam. I still think this will be an excellent board. I hope I can get the problem solved.

I really don't want to put it together, then take apart then put together again. But I might just have to with a substitute board.

    Here is 32M at 4970MHz:
    Attachment 92287

32M is scaling directly with CPU speed now. Tweaks are getting less and less important, so you can do these pure MHz runs easily.
What was the limiting factor. Your QPI is low. Your voltage is low. Presumably you have extremely good cooling system. Was the limit temperature based?

does anyone know if the swiftech gtz lga 755 block will fit on this board? i think someone mention even though the board has lga755 holes, but still need backplate/adapter for the gtz??

I feel so sad when I see these comments. (nothing personal )

People know very little about Core i7 overclockability. This forum is Xtremesystems and if we look scores in here, we can see the worlds best 10 Core i7 965 cpu's. Broblem is, that most of these CPU's are totally c*** in overclocking. Some of these 965 cpu's can hardly reach 4.5GHz in Vantage CPU test. These doesn't scale with voltage and most cpu's can't handle more than 1.55V. Cooling doesn't help much, like we have seen.. some CPU's have cold bug at -50 etc.

Do I need to say more

So, this 32M run is worlds 20-30th fastest and this CPU is quite good even it doesn't look to be anything special. Those chips, which can reach really high frequencys are rarely retail CPU's. The key is to find leaky processor which can handle voltage or cooling well.

If I would have some way to find a golden 965, I could show some heavier results. It's all about connections and a bit of luck these days. My connections can't pick CPU's from factory or give me 20 samples to test. That's the truth.
You are as good as your samples are!

hey petri thats a pretty nice m32 score you have there.. im curious what sort of ram voltage do you have to use to get past 1000mhz on those sticks ?? im guessing over 2.0v?

Yep Mikko! 2.05V. Like I said, these are not designed for this platform, but I don't have any overclocking tri-channel kit yet. A-Data should send me one soon.

    Hey mate,

I just saw you're using a ToughPower 1.2kW... did you have similar problems like Anandtech experienced during their review? (I guess no, but asking is free )

    Thanks,
    Stefan.

I have a Swiftech GTX and the Bloodrage and I had to order the GTZ 1366 adapter and backplate to make it fit. The reason is not the adapter but the backplate itself. You need the one with the hole in the middle to fit the socket backplate through. Check out this post by Saaya for more info:

I have had my Bloodrage now since the 27th of December. I am running a Corsair HX1000 and have not experienced any of the problems discussed by Anandtech.

I am not even mad, I am so disappointed. I am sure tomorrow the shock will wear off and I will get the "mad".

The odds of me getting this board in, any time soon, is slim to none. I built my new system around this and am totally dejected that I might have to adjust mid stream...

    So sad.

The worst part is I don't even know if that connector will even matter to me. But the idea that it was broken, right out of the box makes me want to hurl.

I hope no one else encounters this.
woa wtf? what shipping company delivered it? :o this is more of a shipping/newegg rma problem, not really a board problem...

so newegg said they cant rma the board cause they dont have any stock?
could you please post a picture of the board, spdif and package or pm it to me?

the board should still work fine, since you dont plan to use it anyways ask newegg to inform you when they have the board in stock again so they can swap it. its obviously a shipping problem and i dont think youd have any problems getting the board replaced, and until then just use the board, there shouldnt be anything else wrong with it, but then again, if they kicked it around hard enough to break off the spdif then there might be something else wrong with it

My Co-axial SP/DIF connector was a bit bent, but not broken.
But I'm not sure if it arrived here like that, because I don't remember and I noticed that in the middle of the photo-shooting process, so it might have hit it during the photo-shoot, don't know.

opened up box, everything looks good, motherboard looks even better
    in person.

Still gonna be a while for me to set up, still deciding what to do about memory
and need to find a backplate for waterblock, I have a fuzion original. but not sure if i want to use it, or if it will be good enough..

and I think i wanna keep this 790I system as is, so i need a case, thinking of going TECH station on the I7 build...

Spoiler: what memory did you go with? and 920, 940, 965?

I got the board on the 29th!

Spammed F5 for a good 3 hours straight. Finally got it ;p.
It came with no damage and the board so far works perfect. I had trouble with RAID 0 until I realized my drives had somehow failed but after that was taken care of I'm pleased to announce everything is in working order! (Or at least appears to be.)

I don't trust shipping companies and always hold my breath when I get a product delivered but this one seemed in prime condition.
(Had a keyboard come in once that was beat so hard it looked like a murder weapon.)

I'd highly recommend waiting. I love EVGA and Asus but quite honestly not over Quantum Force.
If you really want one you need to commit to checking Newegg every 10 minutes or so. Just start a long play list or movie and F5 after every song. Worked for me

I went with the 920 with G.Skill 1600 memory. Watercooling the cpu and chipset. Using Apogee GTZ. I think it looks freaking awesome in my black painted CM690 case.

Also, had no problems installing Vista 64 on a Fujitsu SAS 15k drive.

Hows that Fuzion look-alike NB block? If it's sealed and functioning properly I might connect it to the watercooling setup.

What type of material is it made out of?

What do you think about the board so far? Looking forward for the BIOS screens and some overclocking/benchmark resutls. =)

If you had read this thread or used the forum search, you'd know what the block is made of...
We already discussed that several times. It's copper with a brass top and fixed 1/2" barbs.

Yeah..and if you read the whole thread you can see quite a lot of benchmark results What kind of benchmarks you guys want to see, if these are not good for you?

BIOS screens will come soon. I have so much to do and some trips coming, that I haven't been able to pload them yet
