Olli, get friends from Germany to test as well please Everyone needs to get together on this Beta Release and submit Feedback to DFI Bios Team so they can get a Proper Official Bios Candidate released

Ok did some more testing due to curiosity.
I never did bother to check while on 12/01/08 Beta bios.
But I flashed 12/01/08 Official and my results on LAN was the same.
And the same goes for my cpu...only 2 cores Screenshot
went back 9 months to 3/31/08 Beta and all 3 cores work fine.

Not sure if this is applicable with the DFI but is downcore enabled ? (or similar option in bios> that limits amount of cores available to OS)

Dont think DFI has that option....Im kinda new to k-10's
But I tried just loading defaults and thats how it ran.

i never saw that option either. mmh only 3 cores on that new biosses is not good. I ll ask one of my forumdeluxx guys for testing with a x3.

you can test with a new install on a spare hd eventually?

SAB, about the bios release, 2008-10-01, I just flashed to it and lost one of my cores, did the same as you and flashed to an older one and problem solved.


Apart from that little dilemma I'm loving this board , can't wait to start overclocking it .

mate on forumdeluxx with x3 has the problem also... only 2 cores left with the newer biosses...

new 12/18/2008 beta only with x3 processors, one core is disabled. x4 run without issues, all four cores. stable also.

seems like problem with cpu detection..

dont know whether 12/01/2008 official has that problem too...

Been wondering the same thing for over a year now Very frustrating and disappointing coming from D.F.I and hard to believe that these guys were the ones that turned out the NF4 939 Bios (OSKAR) Please start Programming Bios Again I'm begging you Fire your staff and work 24/7:yepp:

I'll do it again. Because try to report any error to asus and wait for a bios.. it will not take only 3 days till it is fixed.

the problem is too low sales of amd in general in the last two years. so how many high end dfi boards do you think have been purchased and will that cover development costs?

i seriously hope this will be another deal with new phenom II the next years.. there could be a good amount of real good oc boards (some from dfi as well) needed for amd phenom oc...

thats also the cause for the rather mid-class sb750 lineup dfi presented

Both those Bios,disabled 1 of my cores.
Seems its only on X3 Phenoms
Using 3/31/08 right now 12x220 so far so good

I think they are focusing on the Intel boards. I'll consider thoroughly to spend serious amout for a DFI board again...

Look at the DFI web site and count how many AMD boards there are.
then count the Intel u will see they are most definitely geared towards them.
But that is just smart business,cant blame DFI for that.
I hold AMD responsible, not only 4 the lame southbridge's they have.
But these CPU's that are poor clockers....Thuse resulting in poor sales.
Hopefully that will change with this next release of CPU's.

What bios is everyone running on their M2RS? So far I've ran the 2008-10-01 official and lost a core with my 8750 x3, and currently I'm using 03/05/2008 and I it doesn't seem to be saving the voltages 0.o

Im on 3/31/08 all 3 cores work.
The thing with volts not being saved, may be AMD Overdrive.
I dont see a 2008-10-01 Bios on DFI web site, is that the correct date.

How could it be overdrive not saving the voltages? I'll wait to see if it is/isn't od then I'll report it. Thanks for the reply
