I thought spheroidal shapes have the largest SA:V ratio?

blah... i was thinking this too, until i accounted for part of the tubing would en essesnce wrap the sphere.

If were dropping that unit in a res, then yes, its a great improvement over flat..

But if were putting it inside a tube, the tube will compress around the spring, and cover up part of the silver...

Having it thinned out and flat would compensate....

Im not sure if im making any sense here...
