Got an issue with reaching same OC I have used for motnhs, before updating my BIOS today.
Ive been running Q9450 @ 3,2Ghz for 4 months with '1003' BIOS for Asus P5Q-E without any issues with the following settings:
CPU Ratio: Auto
FSB Strap: 333
FSB Freq: 400
PCIE Freq: 100
DRAM Freq: DDR2-801
CPU Voltage: 1.2
CPU GTL voltage: 0.630
CPU GTL voltage: 0.670
CPU PLL Voltage: 1.52
FSB Termination Voltage: 1.12
DRAM Voltage: 1.8
NB Voltage: 1.12
Everything else on Auto.
Today i had some crash which made it impossible to boot, totally unrelated to my OC though. Had to reset BIOS to fix it.
Anyway, since i had a default Bios I thought I might as well update my bios from 1003 to 1406 at the same time.
The issue is, Im nowhere near stable OC with same settings again. Im not even passing the Windows Screen. I tried to up the voltages a bit on vcore, NB, PLL, still crashing during windows load.
I got in with an FSB at 366 (havent tested for stability since I just got in though), but thats quite a difference compared to pre-update.
Can an updated BIOS really make that much of a difference? Any advice on which setting might be the culprit? Or if I should just downgrade to another version.
