So its a mix between a accelero s1 and an accelero s1 turbo module.

But with 3 fans and 5 heatpipes like accelero used on there accelero xtreme gpu cooler....enough similarities yet

Though with 3 80mm fans and 5 hatpipes it should perform well regardless....the only problems I think may appear would be in the size of memory and mosfet cooling which is the big issue with todays power hungry cards.

Couldnt tell what those sinks looked like much from that bag of trinkets.....looked again it seems to be hdt which may be a problem if not all pipes can fit on the ihs as was the problem with xigmateks hdt cooler sometimes.

The bag of heatsinks look like they might be of good size....but whats the metal plate for???

this only the second heat pipe direct touch heat sink I've seen for a GPU. it dose look really nice.

The fan kit is optional which is good, I'm sure its possible to strap on your own easily.

Other than that looks decent, probably works better on the GTX cards with the heatspreader.

The optional IXG-3F2 three fan kit for the cooler allows you to cool right up to the ATI Radeon HD4870 and nVidia GTX280* cards.

Why is there an asterisk by the GTX280?

SilenX is the Bose of PC cooling: horribly exaggerated specs, snobbish attitude, design over performance, aimed at people who have no idea what they are buying, performance comparable with 5x cheaper run-of-the-mill brands.
The fans on it look wimpy and flimsy, but the heatsink looks decent, though. Can you test it with some fans that are known to be good?

I've had 10 Silenx fans for about 6 months now. One failed and they quickly replaced it without questions. The balance are running very quietly without issue pumping out whatever cfm they do (all mfg tend to exagerate). They had acknowledged issues with previous line of fans and have newer models now that do not appear to have the same issues. Apparently it was an issue with the Fluid Dynamic Bearings - oddly enough, that is exactly what is failing on the Scythe fans.

You're right, they did have some problems but my recent experience with their fans recently seems to indicate they resolved them. Although the issue was so bad, from what I am able to gather, I would still hesitate to recommend their long term durability yet, based on my experience (too short) but my silenx fans have now gone about 6 months. One thing, though, they are very quiet for their speed.

I have three of 90cfm fans, plenty quite for me. I think manufacturers need to star balancing fan blades. they quite if they don't vibrate along anything, or right up next to a grill/filter/mesh.
it's too bad my fan controller decided it only wants to run two fans. one silnex 90cfm and the other ultra kaze 3,000 :/

Hope mine don't crap out.

If the SilenX FDB's are the Sony's then I believe they switched. Really odd about the Scythe fans that they failing now. One user said he had 5 fans fail.

I've got 6 Silenx Cooling my radiator (3 38mm in push and 3 25 mm in pull). Really pretty quiet.

They're not, first time I heard Scythe's FDBs buggering up, and I visit many forums...

I had like 4 going 24/7 for a year or so, no issue and no where near its MTBF
