Basically, the RAM is unlocked if you have multipliers over 6 and 8. If you only have 6 and 8, it is locked. For the QPI, if you have a handful of multipliers to choose from, it is unlocked. Could you post a picture of the qpi multipliers you have access to? In fact, it would be really helpful if you could update to the latest BIOS and then post pictures of all the different multipliers available in the BIOS

I of course will do this when I receive my 920 and P6T, but newegg is taking forever and a day to actually ship them out

I'm set to buy a P6T, but first I have a question...Included is a software AI Suite with a proprietary util "Fan Xpert". Under CPU fan "user" mode, the manual says user can define his own profile "with limitations". This is a make or break deal for me, so I would like to know exactly what restrictions are imposed for creating a fan speed/temp profile for the CPU.

i have heard that the P6T has some problems with memory badwidth ...

meaning that in syntetich tests it gives lower results that most other boards at the same settings .

Is it true? or is it a bios issue ..

    i upgraded to 0905 .. yet i dont see the unlocked multipliers, i have a retail 920

also the TM function is the one you are looking for , to unlock the OC potential , its not auto..

No TM function is not the overspeed protection. It is a feature that has been available since the Core 2 Duo (and possibly older) that just shuts down the CPU if it gets dangerously hot to prevent damage.

And now we have conflicting information. One person with the P6T and retail 920 says the memory and QPI/uncore multiplier are unlocked, but you are saying they are not. Omg can we get any solid information here

They are unlocked but if they were locked, it would mean the same thing. P6T Deluxe is stable enough as auto on both of them, no need to change their settings.

the thing is, if you press "enter" on the multiplier stuff you cannot change it you must use + and - to do so...depending on wih menu you're in...it's the only explanation i find for you to have different experience with your board (i'm 905 bios too)

i ran 30 mins of prime (large and small FFT passed) it's not very much but as i had no issue at all with anything i consider this stable for 24/7 classic use, HT is off (temps too high for the gain), also i don't know if my girl friend will be happy if i let my computer on all day or night :p (wich might be the real reason i don't prime for a few hours )

You disabled hyper threading? Wouldn't you get better performance gearing it down to 3.7GHZ with HT on? I know that a lot of programs take advantage of HT there days...

What exactly are your temps with it on vs off?

    My 2c worth:

Setup in my sig: 3.9GHz ~12 hour prime stable.

Prime95 temps are highish (pushing 85C), but I've just added a 2nd Scythe S-Flex to my TRUE (for push and pull) which dropped the temps by ~10C under load.

    Next stop 4Ghz prime stable...

Guys I know this off topic but can someone please with the P6T try some data transfers in the neighborhood of 30gigs or more and give me some feedback I'm having a horrible problem with transferring files on bios 804 and Vista 64 I don't know what is wrong but 30gigs is saying like 4 hours and it really takes 4 hours transferring files from 1 hard drive to the next....

I'm using Vista Ultimate x64 and BIOS 804 and after setup I transferred in the region of 300 gigs to a new 1 TB drive and had no problems with transfer speed.

Edit: And I just transferred a 31GB Windows Image Backup and was got 55-60 MB/s and a ~8 min transfer time.

Thanks, did you use the drivers off the disc when you intalled your OS?

Yep, everything straight off the disc. I'm using all 6 of the SATA ports (neither of the SAS ports tho).

You using SATA only or IDE and SATA?

SATA only but I'm also running SLI I wonder if that has anything to do with it? I'm disecting my computer as we speak trying to get to the bottom of it sometimes I will get good tranfer rates for a short while then there is this bottleneck and everything crawls but slower than IDE ever was It's a 100%deal breaker for me.. I am now trying different hard drives and then a new OS and then an RMA WTF???

I figured out that the problem exists with the Seagate 1TB 32mb cache drives I have.. Seems like there is something wrong with the transfer to the Seagate all other transfers seem to be fine.. I think it might be an X58 ICH10 problem with the 32mb cache but that is sort of a guess....

Thats a NICE overclock on air!@ Is that with hyperthreading on or off?

Also... could you please post pics of your bios settings or rattle off the recipe so that I might give this stable 3.9ghz a whirl. I'd be grateful

Well that wouldn't be good news! Three of my four hard drives have 32mb of cache!

On a side note, I will be receiving my 920 and P6T Deluxe today!

But, it is going to have to sit unused in a corner until D-Tek releases a 1366 mounting kit for the Fuzion V2

HT is definitely on. HT off is damn near cheating .

CPUv: 1.365 (started at 1.45 and worked backward)
QPI/DRAM core v: 1.3875 (this seemed to make the most difference above ~ 3.6Ghz)
    DRAM v: 1.66
    CPU PLL v: 1.98

    Everything else stock.

Note: I have twin Scythe S-Flex fans on my TRUE, and my TaiChi case allows alot of airflow. Temps are still high tho when priming, pushing mid 80's.
