Not sure if my RAM will do that and the board definitely will not. Won't even get to bios with PL 6.
I can get PL 9 stable, but even 8 fails blend at 400fsb. I'll play with my voltages and try to get it rock solid at 400 to so I have a good baseline to work off of. 420 is a sweet spot for my config, if I can get there stable.
Update: got a 1hr blend stable 400fsb, PL9, 1.25vcore, 1.7vnb, 1.53fsb term.
What is the DIMM VTT and where is ti in the bios?

OK, so I'm close to 420 stable now.
Not quite stable yet, although it does load Vista 64. I'd like to improve the performance level ans make this stable and call it a day. Thanks. I suspect I am strong arming the system into booting with the NB and FSB term voltage. I'll make your suggested changes and try to lower those.
Right now I'm on Rampage 0601. I made the conversion just for this chip.
I didn't make Grnfinger's suggested changes yet, but I dropped the buss to 416, dropped the RAm to 1:1, and at PL 9, I've got it blend stable for 90 minutes now. It's either the RAM only being rated at 1000mhz or the divider that was the problem. We'll see how it does, but this RAM never liked anything over 1000mhz. Tony even warned against trying to push it past that as they really aren't binned to do so.
I must say, this chip is a delight! 3.5 no problem, cool as can be and it wants LESS volts. VID on maximus bios was 1.1125, Rampage VID came up as 1.2125, but either way, I think I'll keep this thing for quite a while. Any thoughts on why it wants auto voltage instead of hard set?
I'll make Grnfingers changes and get back to yal'. Thanks for the help.

I noticed you have a PC-8000 ram so 1:1 is your best bet to eliminate ram instability. But at 416, you shoud be able to run PL7, 1:1.
I have a i7920 cpu no ram yet nor a mobo, looking hard at the rampage and some corsair
going to build from scratch so I need another H2O setup case psu ect ect... hope to have it powerd up by xmas.
Right now I'm at 420fsb, PL 8. Blend is doing fine for almost an hour now. Should I burn this one in or see how much higher I can go with these settings? I woudl like to hit 450 if possible.
With a Mximus Formula, it's a roll of the dice, but with luck, you should be able to make it.
How low do shoudl I be able to get the PL at this speed?
Just wondering...
Is there results of this MoBo going 600MHz on FSB? Does it needs to be voltmoded for this reason?
An unfortunate person is one tries to fart but sh1ts instead...

I need some advice trying to get my ram stable at 500MHz. CPU is stable up to 4.0GHz, so I'm testing it lower (3.2GHz).

Putting together RII Extreme i7 920 and CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB DDR3 1600. Will be moving the Apogee GTZ and PA120.2 over for cooling cpu. Not sure about the NB cooler yet. I'll let you know how everything goes.
And I know this won't offer me any major performance increase in gaming over my current asus builds but hell I'm a bencher
