Well, I took 2 sticks out and got a decent OC at 430fsb. Looks like the 4x 2gb RAM is not going to allow me to push this chip much further than 3.6.
Anyone have experience with fsb > 400 and 8gb of RAM on this board?

Hi After a long time i think is time to do some changes to my Maximus Formula Se.
I been running it since day 1 with a QX6700 @ 3.6Ghz 24/7
Iam thinking is i put the Rampage Formula 0601 Bios i might be able to get it a bit higher. My intention is 24/7 settings anything above 3.6Ghz
Any suggestions? Do you think will go higher?

So is 0601 really any better than 0308 for a non EO chip? What about a QX6850?
Here are my settings w/ my 8G GSKILL DDR2 1000. Dont have the time to oc as in the past, but it's a decent oc, 100% stable. This is an E8400 E0 rev.

I'm just getting used to this chip and figuring out what it like on this board, but overall I need less volts through the board than my e6700 needed. Like you though, I think I need my NB under water to give it enough volts to run much over 450 with my 8gb o RAM. I've gotten it to boot at 475fsb w/ 1.72 NBv, but it dumped shortly after.
Update: seems my NB temps and voltage are going to be a pain with this chip. Even at 420fsb i had a hard time adequately cooling the NB below 60c with the volts needed (1.68v) to keep the system solid. Looks like I'm tweaking the system at 400fsb until I can cool the NB down.

Hello everyone againSo, i finally changed my mobo, ( because as you remember my maximus couldn't do more than 430 FSB with my Q9550
I got P5Q Deluxe and now i can boot 470x8.5![]()

So far, this hasn't worked out too well for me. The best I can get it a boot into windows but the system blue screens after 30 seconds if it doesn't freeze before that.Code:Extreme Tweaker Ai Overclock Tuner : Manual OC From CPU Level Up : AUTO CPU Ratio Control : Manual - Ratio CMOS Setting : Auto FSB Frequency : 420 FSB Strap to North Bridge : 333 PCI-E Frequency: 100 DRAM Frequency: DDR2-1008 DRAM Command Rate : 2T DRAM Timing Control: Manual CAS# Latency : 5 RAS# to CAS# Delay : 5 RAS# Precharge : 5 RAS# ActivateTime : 18 RAS# to RAS# Delay : 3 Row Refresh Cycle Time : 55 Write Recovery Time : 6 Read to Precharge Time : 3 8-3-5-4-6-4-6 Read to Write Delay (S/D) : Auto Write to Read Delay (S) : Auto Write to Read Delay (D) : Auto Read to Read Delay (S) : Auto Read to Read Delay (D) : Auto Write to Write Delay (S) : Auto Write to Write Delay (D) : Auto 14-5-1-6-6 Write to PRE Delay : Auto Read to PRE Delay : Auto PRE to PRE Delay : Auto ALL PRE to ACT Delay : Auto ALL PRE to REF Delay : Auto DRAM Static Read Control: Auto Ai Clock Twister : Auto Transaction Booster : Manual Common Performance Level [9] Pull-In of CHA PH1 Disabled Pull-In of CHA PH2 Disabled Pull-In of CHA PH3 Disabled Pull-In of CHA PH4 Disabled Pull-In of CHA PH5 Disabled Pull-In of CHB PH1 Disabled Pull-In of CHB PH2 Disabled Pull-In of CHB PH3 Disabled Pull-In of CHB PH4 Disabled Pull-In of CHB PH5 Disabled CPU Voltage : 1.340 (CPU-Z) CPU PLL Voltage : 1.50v North Bridge Voltage : 1.70v DRAM Voltage : 2.0v FSB Termination Voltage : 1.60v South Bridge Voltage : 1.150v SB 1.5V Voltage : 1.60v Loadline Calibration : Enabled CPU GTL Reference : 0.67X North Bridge GTL Reference : 0.67X DDR2 Channel A REF Voltage : Auto DDR2 Channel B REF Voltage : Auto DDR2 Controller REF Voltage : Auto Advanced CPU Configuration: Everything Disabled
The best stable config I've gotten so far is 400fsb, Performance level auto (13) and NB/SB voltages much less than that.

thus far, I haven't had any performance or compatibility issue w/ the OCZ sticks. I have to manually set the Row Refresh Cycle Time, but that's it.
One thing I've noticed with the Rampage bios is that is was easier to get the system to boot at different settings, but at the same time more difficult to get things stable. There is an ass load of setting in there.
