Thread: Core i7: "Extended" motherboard back-plate highly recommended

    I just had this mental image of gabe logging into this thread and trying to figure out where all the talk of pie fits in!
    Ok, so we need to know if Gabe's plate is supposed to go over the plates that come on the motherboards or replace them.
    I'd guess go over but thats just a guess.


    Edit: Just read from his first post in this thread:
    "Swiftech recommends the use of an extended back-plate where high clamping pressure is applied (typically to improve TIM joint). By "extended", we mean a supplemental back-plate to reinforce the stock solution"
    To me that says it goes over the factory backplate.. supplemental means "to add to" not replace.
    One question from me for Gabe;
    When are the back plates due out for socket 1366 to work with the ApogeeGT's?
