Guys from pclab.pl also reached 210 bclk on SmackOver, so it's not that bad board after all. If you haven't notice, here is their thread: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=208845
220*20 = 4.4, 220*22 = 4.8...Actually, without a ratio lower than 36x on Uncore, it's ipossible to do more 4.4/4.8 withe these CPUs...But i think that the next revision will be much more better than this C0
Nothing has changed. It has always been the case that it is mere luck to get a "golden" CPU. If you are always expecting record breaking clocks that just isn't realistic. There will always be faster. It's just like racing. I do this to have fun. I will do my best to get the most out of my system at the level I like, but I'm not in it to set records. Personally I don;t have the skill like alot of you guys do, and have been out of the loop for awile and have alot to learn again. I just like clocking to improve my performance, and get "personal bests". Anything more than that and it would become a job, and a chore, and it wouldn't be fun anymore. I compete against myself.
I have competed in mnay different hobbies. I competed with RC Aircraft for years, and I won alot. I wasn't out to win, it just turned out that way. i didn't put pressure on myself. I just had a ball doing it and practiced hard at it becasue i wanted to fly well. It just so happened the judges liked my flying, and on those days I performed. It was never about competeing against my fellow flyers though. Those guys were my freinds, and we used to help each other, and when a person would win everybody would congratulate them. It was an honor to fly with those guys, and one day i will get back into it again.
It's kinda like it is here. Everybody helps each other, but we are dealing with all kinds of variables that are beyoind our control. That will always be the case and there is some luck involved in it. When you have done your best, and have achived the things like you have here, you should be proud of that. I've seen things you have done already that I can't do, and becasue you did those things, you have helped people like me and many others. I can't thank people enough for the time they put into this and then come here and share it with others.
I'm enjoying my new i7 system alot. I have had an issue recently, but an RMA is gonna fix that and then I'll be able to do some clocking, and it will be alot of fun. I like to keep it fun. There are no negatives to getting more than advertised specs. Only positives. Remember that it's people like you that share your experience that make this palce the best forum on the Internet for Xtreme OC'ing and getting the most out of these systems. It is appreciated too. I really enjoy reading your posts and the many others here.
It's funny how every single person that's complaining about is sponsored to begin with. Count your blessings, because you guys have a lot to be thankful of. (It is Thanksgiving Day here in the states after all)
And if the thread keeps going off track like this, I'm going to start pruning posts. Only reason I haven't yet is because Charles didn't seem too gung ho about it.

Good point, Gautam!!
While I understand the feeling of being cheated when someone got the best stuff... its better to be thankful for what you have. I have realised it all over again with recent attacks on mumbai. So I am happy with chip I got from intel which does max of 4.85G and 3D @ 4.73G.
So keep pushing with all you got!
so where are these results BEFORE thanksgiving
thanks heheh
They do not outbrave the master just like that. Intel apparently very badly took small demonstration of overclocking organized by AMD, where Phenom II attained 6 not less than GHZ <http://www.presence-pc.com/actualite/AMD-Phenom-overclocking-32449/>. Intel intends to wash this affront by organizing another demonstration.
According to Intel, AMD cheated in effect, by using chosen extremist CPU and by unbarring several bolts of security on the Phenom of test, which restrict rise habitually in frequency of fleas. For Intel therefore, no Phenom of series will be able of the same performances. By using the same types of optimizations on his Core i7, Intel pretends he will attain 6 more than Ghz or even 7 GHz. As AMD, Intel will accomplish this demonstration in the presence of a famous overclocker, respected in middle ", FUGGER. An interesting battle in perspective...
One wait for suite,
Will need you lean on these bolts possibilite of faires to jump?![]()
confirmed QPI is limiting those BCLK clocks
The i7-965 was the first time I got to play with pre release hardware.
My feeling is nothing but Thanks for the opportunity.
I'm never going to be at the speeds you "fast" guys are but that doesn't diminish my feelings at all.
Back to the main point here:
So Francois has Intel find him some uber good chips and takes them to Fugger's house and they test.
Did he in any way try to be deceptive on what he was doing? No.
Was he totally up front on exactly what he was doing? yes
I don't see the need for people to be so upset.
Really, I just don't get it.
I hear the calls of cheat, and I hope this doesn't go to HWBot,etc and it sounds like sour grapes to me.
Face it, Francois picked a guy he knew, that was also reasonably close in distance to and had the cascade and experience with it so that the testing would go well.
If I can see it this clearly then why can't some others here?
Sit back and just enjoy the show.

All done guys, very impressive results and worked out some details to improve the quality of future chips for everyone overclocking and average users alike.
The results from the past two days are being reviewed for any errors, only results from un-modified chips will be shown as there may be some issue to fudging, to eliminate this possibility only the righteous chip screen shots will be shown.
Im getting approval tonight on screen shots, so hang tight.

how high is safe vCore on i7 for 24/7 use?
I'm working on getting 4.3 prime stable and w/ RIIE have to set 1.49v bios which rolls to 1.53v under load...
Under good water, temps under 70c load - this safe?

well said movieman.. all of you guys should be happy to see some amazing stuff even if it was done with cherry picked samples or whatever..leave the jealously and egos out... you guys do understand why fugger is having this privilege of benching that golden chip right ?? i mean he is been around a long time.. and worked hard for his status in the community... like he said almost all top guys have sponsors.
non of them got them for being lazy on there asses doing nothing.. NO!!! these guys worked hard for it..
im sure that atleast partly this thread is about smashing counter attacking amd's resently leaked talk about massive scores on the phenom II cpus maybe thats so. and of course the most important part witch is.. posting impressive benchmarking scores.
ok enough of that lets see some numbers![]()

Man I love good competition don't you?
I myself am pulling for the Phenom II, but no matter how it turns out we the end users all win in the long run. It keeps these 2 great companies pushing out better and better processors..
The people that get the chance to run these tests and play with the new toys have earned this through hard work and knowledge and have caught the eye of these 2 companies...
Great work to Fugger and all the others that get to play....
So where is the 7k fugger? Were waiting :P AMD still own intel this...

Is it normal for a 940 to need almost 1,4V Vcore loaded to be primestable at 4Ghz? Needs 1,386V for 182*22 on a Gigabyte EX58-Extreme.
Air cooling tho, Coretemps 69-75 using a Tjunction of 95 (is that correct anyways?). Or did I just catch a bad chip...
Tjunction is 100°c so your temps are higher. 4ghz 1.386v isn't very bad but not really good average cpu m8.
i7 3960X@5ghz, Asus Rampage IV Extreme, 8gb Gskill RipjawsZ PC19200C8, Corsair force GT 240go, 2XGTX Titan, MM Ascension, Seasonic X-serie Gold 1250W, Watercooling
i7 3930K@5ghz, Asus Rampage IV Extreme, 8gb Gskill RipjawsZ PC17000C9, OCZ Vertex 3 120go, GTX670 DCU2 Top, MM Pinnacle, Corsair AX850, Watercooling
Okay then.. if that's average I can work with that. Going to watercool it anyway, just needs to do 4Ghz on 24/7 bearable volts. BCLK of 182 doesn't seem to be a problem, I only upped the QPI/VTT by 0,1V and the ICH Core (I think) by 0,1V and it passed an hour prime blend as well, all the other volts on stock.
One more question, UCLK is the speed of the L3 cache right? How high can it go? Auto setting seems to be 1/2 of QPI bus, should I leave it at that or try to raise it? Performance gains from raising it?
mine is worse...3.9ghz at 1.4 volts under a tuniq tower on the msi eclipse.
i'm sure there will be better consistency in later batches.
