Voltage values for VTT ,SB chipset, NB chipset and VDIMM are not showing in newest Everest Ultimate Edition (v4.60.1500).
Or in the BIOS for that matter. I can set the voltage values, but not see the result real time.

Why is this? Something Asus decided for the P5Q series or bug in BIOS? (I have the 1406 BIOS)
Do you guys have the same 'problem' as me?
What version of the board do you have? it should say on the box or a sticker on the board i think.

There's nothing wrong with his board , there are NO readouts foreseen via bios... in fact here are not many manufacturers that have these readouts in medium range mobo's, only the MFII has this for the Asus P45 mobo's...

This is what we here all have :

Nothing more and surely nothing less

    Hi guys,

I've now build my new system, here's the full spec:

    Asus P5Q-E
    Q9550, Yorkfield Core 2.83Ghz
    (2x2GB) Corsair Dominator DDR2 PC2-8500 1066
XFX GTX 260 (216) Black Edition PCI-E Graphics Card
    Corsair 620W HX Modular PSU - ATX12V v2.2 APFC
Coolermaster Cosmos RC-1000 Full Tower Case
Western Digital WD6400AAKS 640GB Hard Drive
    Zalman CNPS 9700 LED

I've been running the system for just over a week now, and it's running very sweet... My stock 3D Mark06 score is 14302...

Anyway I want to get a nice overclock for 24/7 use, I'm aiming for 3.6GHz...

So far i've managed to get 3.0GHz which increased my 3D Mark06 score to 15210, and 3.2GHz which increased my 3D Mark06 score to 15808 these are both rock solid stable...

On the above 2 settings, I only changed the voltage for CPU to 1.2250v and the DRAM to 2.0v everything else was set to Auto...

After reading I found the board likes to over-volt when the voltages are set to auto, so for my 3.4Ghz I decided to put all the voltages in my self...

I then tried 3.4GHz which increased my 3D Mark06 score to 17048, but this failed Prime95 on work thread 1, running a Torture Test (in-place large FFTs) after 2 hours...

Here's how I set the Bios for 3.4Ghz, any ideas what to change to increase stabillity?

Your GTLs are pretty low for a quad.

Hello there, i got Q9550 here and i used to run whit 3400Mhz on first days when i got this chip, but hell yeah its most easiest overclock that there can be! On my situation after 3.8Ghz i will need to start tweaking more to stay stable but that 3.4Ghz should be really easy to obtain.

check out your template for my changes, few more to Leeghoofd advice

After all i would just try change LLC enabled and test stability

A little update so far the system is running stable, and I have also disabled "C1E Suppport" I need a program that really tests the stabillity though as Prime95 takes ages... Any ideas?

Try the Intel Burn test by Agent God, or the LinX, they put loads of stress on the CPU and can be pretty conclusive... do max test and about 20-30 loops (preferably 64bit OS)... so about finished in one hour... OCCT is also over and done in 2 hours...

Yet again I have to say that there's no 100% bulletproof test... running several (not at the same time ofcourse) might be more reassuring

Thanks, I'll try the Intel Burn Test, do you have a link to the Linx test and I will give that one a go as well...

    Cheers Gaz...

    Hi guys,

What would be a safe temp for the Q9550 45nm Yorkfield?

When running LinX on a 20000 problem size for 30 loops the hottest core in Everest hits 73c, is this safe?

The CPU temp is only 55c, I know the Core temps are hotter but 73c does seem quite high, my Zalman is running at 2200rpm so I can increase this if needed...

Oh and I seem to have it rock solid now, with only 1.225v for the CPU...

    Thanks for all the help...

    .

How is the vcore and cpu clock? it is stock?

for stock, this temp is not problem, but with overclock you may have stabilty issues.
