I have been considering getting one, but after seeing the amount of failures and lost gear resulting from it, there is no way I'm taking the risk.
they say there is a bug with 1.800 v-core ware it really pumps 2.000 v-core instead...this is why 3 peoples chips died having 2.000v when they thought that they were using 1.8000v (on air) while beching...at least thats what there saying on the other ud3p thread here on xtreme...this board is the shizzle...but overclocking is like playing with fire somethings going to get burned if your not careful...besides as long as you dont lap your chip you can rma it..

Just a quick success story for the doubters:

Just got a ud3p with a C1 q9550. Pulled out the old board, slapped in the new ud3p, and stuck the fuzion water block on the q9550, powered on, went into the bios, set the fsb to 400, and installed vista ultimate 64. The ONLY change I made was to set the fsb to 400, and to set my 8g (4x2g) 1.8V g skill pi's to 400 (2.00d) and boom done. I now have a completely stable 3.4G quad with ddr2-800 running 1:1 with the fsb. WOW was that easy and what a fast machine.

This is the best mobo I've EVER installed. Beats the old evga 680i/Q6600 combo hands down.

    PS anyone want to buy a evga 680i SLI A1 with a q0 q6600?

oops I need to update my sig

I could run mine at 400, but it would never make it over that, nor would it run at it's rated speed of 500.

The mosfet run cool on 45nm quad no need for waterblock. But it other story for 65nm quad.
Just boltmod them using short M3 screw and with EK Asus 3a backplate if you worried the board gonna bowed. Thermalright HR-02 S/U also fit the mosfet but no need for that because the gigabyte heatpipe can be pull off the nb block or the mosfet block.

SB dont need any wc. Just replace the tim.

I think EK-NB/SB 5 should fit the board because the mounting holes on the nb is around 64mm. I`m using zern.

    Review of the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R

Since the front page didn't include any site reviews of this particular model, I figured I share this link for the review at BT.

Thanks Viper, yes see if we can come out with a good WC setup for this board.

Sparda I understand I just need to use the stuff I have in my sig (PA120.3) to cool somehting

i have the pc8000 reapers, with the silver hs w/ fins.

The max i could push it was 1036 @ 2.2. They don't seem to be good overclockers, nor do they run good at lower latency.

For future i am going with pi black or mushkin

I have an E8400 C0 VID 1.215 cooled by a TRUE120 with Noctua 1200rpm fan, Gigabyte EP45-DS5 mobo BIOS F12, Exceleram 4GB DDR2 1150MHZ, Leadtek GTX 260 896MB stock frequencies 4 now, 2x640GB Western D. + 2x640GB SAMSUNG F1 HDD's, ASUS XONAR DX, all housed in Antec 1200 CASE and powered by Cooler Master Real Power M700 700w power source. I think it's quite a well balanced system.
I wanna clock my E8400 to 4Ghz (8x500) and my ram to 1200 using 5:6 divider. But I need help ... don't really understand all the settings and abundence of voltages from BIOS.
I don't know what is 2 much for this dual core cpu and what voltages should I increase to attain it.
What Performance Level this ram is able to do @ 1200 MHZ?
Could u share some settings ? ... I'd really apreaciate all the help u peoples in this forum could give me.
Sorry 4 this long post ... Share some settings please.

This is the EP45-UD3 thread... Not sure if the bios is the same. Give us a template of your bios and maybe we can help.

I have a E8600 now, so i am gonna play with that, also i want to try to crank the ram this time, i got my ram to 1284Mhz while I was clocking FSB on the quad, So i figure if i go easy on the fsb and crank the ram, I might be able to run some numbers that get me into that new GIG contest.

Plus being watercooled will also let me try for 5g on the quad.

Using Q6600 with F6d, everything is fine and could still lower the VTT and PLL.

awsome bro i didnt know there was a review on this board..
the guy in the review had the same problem as me trying to get the UD3R stable over a 495 bus im thinking the board needs a bios update because 495 is holding back my e8400 i need to hit 510 or 515 stable.......i kinda wish i got the UD3P instead i think i could run my e8400 above 4.6ghz with it..

One thing I noticed on examing the board. My northbridge is held down by screws. I checked 5 different review sites and 3 of them had the board with screws and two with pushpins (similar to the pics on the front page of this thread).

Is this indicative of a board revision?
