So the problem is only in Vista? I'd loosen those timings a bit, till it will boot, then drop the voltage as far as you can. Then start tightening things up again.

Some Results with the Gskill 8800PI.

The rams are prime stable 11h at 570Mhz..

I boot windows with errors at 580..

    590 boot..but no windows.

I will burn in the memory for some days.I want to see if they will have better results.

btw nice numbers at everest for every day (2x2Gb perf)

(twister here is on auto) ..At 560 and moderate the read is ~9450mb/s

mine were crap when I got them had to rma.
They wouldnt do 1066 at 2.2 volts without errors.
I hope I have better luck with new kit next week.

NB volts will need to be adjusted most likely.
You can also set your dram skew to advanced 350ps it will help to settle the ram down.
FYI OCZ and Asus dont really play nice

I cant say that i am not satisfied with 8800Pi.

I hoped that they will play 1200.

RMA is quite difficult for me..because it has a lot of cost to send them back to Dublin..(+ need a lot of time)..

I lost ~500Mb/s at R/W/C compared to my old D9's (running 1200)..so what??

Have you tried the 1403 bios that you linked to?

I have my new set of G.Skill 8800 2x2Gb but have not tried them in my rig yet. Here is my 8500 Everest, I think they still have more to give but I have not had time to work with them.

    1403 bios is total crap
I tested the ram in 3 rigs and it failed on all of them so bios was not the culprit.
I like having a different platforms to test on P35, P45 and X38, I'm now torn between grabbing a Rampage wich is now in stock finally ( last one arrived doa) or the Gigabyte UD3 looks like alot of fun. I have to decide soon or they will ship out a Rampage....This will be my last purchase untill december then I will jump on the i7 wagon, I have been good all year and Santa owes me a favour

You might want to remove the link to it. I have been torn about getting a Rampage but think I will hold out for i7 after the prices drop. I also need another pump and two more Micro-Res so we will see how long I can be good.

    Need some help with stability

    Hello,
My setup has been working fine but lately has become a slight bit unstable ( sudden reboot when doing some firefox functions). So I adjusted a bit and ran orthos stability test (small) and it only lasted about 4 hours. I included my settings, please let me know what I should adjust to attain stability again. Thanks for your inputs.

got my board today and its great
ive got my cpu stable but i seem to be having problems with my memory

my ideal set up will be

    Q6600 @ 3.6 400x9 with ram at 1066MHz 5-5-5-15 with a PL of 7

everything is stable @ 400x9 with my ram at 800Mhz 1:1
but if i try 1066 it fails linpack x64 and i get random blue screens with "Bad_Pool_Caller" being the main culprit and that indicates a memory problem

my ram is 2GB Corsair Dominator 8500 5-5-5-15

tried my NB volts up to 1.55 with my FSB Termination Voltage @ 1.36

think i need to up my NB volts? i hope not as im already not comfortable with 1.55 or maybe drop PL down to 8 or 9? but then i lose alot of performance

or could it be my ram and not the NB?

personally i dont think it is as it worked fine at 1066 on my DFI but im not going to rule it out yet
    i7 920 @ 4.2 (1.240v)

Sounds like perhaps your cpu is through its burn in phase, bump up vcore a notch or two.

You may need to increase vdimm to get stable. 1.55 vNB should be more than enough, in fact I'd say it's excessive, try 1.40 vNB in conjunction with raising vdimm.

But i dont understand one thing:
At 500MHz FSB the CPU / System isnt stable. Also with my old E8500...And it needs extreme high vNB.

BUT my old E6600 was running over 500 MHz FSB with less vNB !

Maybe the board doesnt like the new CPUs (45nm)?!
The 65nm CPU goes higher with the FSB...

    @ CryptiK / all

which VTT / vNB do u need to run over 500MHz FSB?

1307 is the most recent stable bios
1403 is crap and was removed from Asus site...I have it linked in my sig for thoes who wish to try it ( I have had some requests so thats why its there )
I personally would would use 1307 its seems to be the best to date...1403 offerd nothing, pull-ins still do not work, same crappy tref value, and a nice port hang on boot up
One would think that a company like Asus could put alittle more effort in bios support for the ROG line of boards
