I think i know whas's going on.
With your own modified bios, big chance you typed in those voltages at the time , right?
With Cat 8.8 and higher you have to be right on the spot with those voltages, meaning you must use values according to ATi's voltage table.
If you deviate from this, the driver will error because the exact voltage has not been set. This was not a problem pre cat 8.8,
If the value you put in in deviated, it would just take the nearest correct value.
Now with the newest RBE you can't type those voltages anymore but you choose them from a dropdown list, assuring the user that the right one is used.
Just reopen or remodify your bios with the newest RBE and set the correct voltage and the problem should be solved
Oh and one other thing. I just read on Techpowerup that the only way to install Cat 8.8 is to install using a NON-modified bios. After the install you can flash again. Seems te be a known issue. I support it, because at the time 8.8 came out this was exactly the way I got 8.8 installed![]()
I got the exact same problem as you. For me to use my Sony LCD TV, I have to physically switch cables with the primary port which normally connects to my Samsung Syncmaster 205BW
If the two are connected at the same time, although the TV is off (or the Samsmung) , I get black screens , freezes, even reboots... this is sooo annoying. What the deal Ati?
