they include the ATI stream function which is GPGPU as in general purpose computing on a gpu basically acting as a CPU but many times faster, this is restricted to some things at the moment but will gain momentum

not sure but all those crossfire woes maybe fixed

AND!!! GTA4 has been significantly boosted with this release : http://www.gta4.net/news/4163/...in-the-next-few-days/
    just read the top bit

R* is also releasing there on game patch today, tommorow or thursday

    Should be a gooden enjoy!

depending on where oyu live it is already tomorrow that thread was started on the 9th.......i got these 12/10/08 in the AM.

    Excellent info though

read through that thread heres a quote

Fake? Strange because I had RC3 and setup has told, that installed driver is older than in package. Also - it has got WHQL. So I think it's real.

They cause a reset on my setup after installation, the cursor appears on the screen upon boot then bye, bye Windows.

My 2900 pro really does not like catalyst drivers.

So, which driver set seems to give the best results for people? The ones linked to here or the ones on the ATi website? All this stuff with the 8.12s has got kinda confusing.

This forum-quote that i posted above is from the official ATI website.
Not that i think that there is a difference between the Sapphire and ATI drivers.
Just grab the ATI drivers from the ATI site.

I'm just confused now because theres been like 3 betas and now the sapphire vs. ati drivers thing. The betas had weird mismatching drivers, I got a whiff of the official drivers use older builds of certain parts than the betas did, now its like wtf :\

Also, wtf is up with those long complete drivel filenames for the cat drivers? people know what os their about to grab the driver for because they have to bloody select it first, then you got those numbers which are probably useful internally at ATi but not outside of there... anyone would think it would kill them just to name the file Catalyst 8.12
