So my top two choices for boards seem to be having trouble with Quads as of late the Biostar T power I45 and the Asus P45 Deluxe. Are there any boards you guys can reccomend that can handle a Quad just fine?
i3 2100, MSI H61M-E33. 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws.
MSI GTX 460 Twin Frozr II. 1TB Caviar Blue.
Corsair HX 620, CM 690, Win 7 Ultimate 64bit.
I was thinking about this vdroop thing. Vdroop is pretty bad with this MSI board and I need 1.55v from bios to hit 3.6GHz, that's like 1,498v-1,512v under load. So if I get a better mobo with less vdroop would I be able to do 3.6GHz with less volts?

I just upgraded from E2140 to Q6600.... will post results soon :-)
BTW i got Q6600 L815A638.

Awesome
Is that using your 367CFM Delta's? (I think I remember your build log thingy)![]()
nope that was on the old setup which was ducted 190CFM delta's, unfortunatley 447FSB seems to be the limit for prime stability on my Q6600 any faster even on the new setup with lower temps would fail randomly within the first 4 hours of the prime run.. quite frustrating!
P5K-E un-modified, but the CPU wont do anymore have had it on A P5Q-Dlx and MF2 and 447FSB is the most it will do on a 9 multi for any length of time prime stable, will super pi @ just over 4.2ghz and can boot to windows at around 4.3ghz although never put more than 1.6v through it so might do more with some extra vcore

Man I got cursed with my Q66 my VID is 1.325. It takes 1.5v just for 3.5Ghz. I looked through this thread and was very jealous lol. But it runs great so cant complain.

1.5v for 2.6GHz is either BS or it was a defective chip. My worst one was also a 1.325 VID and needed over 1.4v to do 3GHz stable; it's worse than any quad I've seen on the net.

1.5v in BIOS on CPUz it is usually around 1.46. I go any lower and I crash.
