@truehighroller: For now I'll let it running folding@home and later tonight when I get home let's see if windows crashed or not! If not I'll try to reduce DRAM Voltage to 2.12 and will run prime 95 again, but this time with blend test!

After that, and if all goes well after 2/3 days, I'll try your suggestions
Bad thing is with you having your vfsb so high that if you sit there and burn it in at that high spot 1.24 for 3.6GHZ it can burn it self into that spot and want to stay set that high but, it's ok it is your chip. I have mine set to 1.22 and it won't run below it now "overclocked I mean". I just figured if you are going to be running that low 3.6GHZ all the time then you might want to burn it into a lower spot then that, that's all.

Intel states and I think I have proven it "to my self atleast" that they are right, if you set it higher then what they recomend it will burn itself into liking that spot whatever you have it set to yada yada exc. and they say to be weary of this. I suppose it is not that big of a deal but, if you can get it to start liking a lower setting by hitting it with the lower setting right away, while burning it in, why not do that?

Changed it before it crashed or after like just now and you are going to test it?

    I'm running Vista x64 with SP1 here.
I'm no expert, could be a lot of things including:
vista up to date, disk check,

What about your other settings in the other CPU TAB?

    good luck troubleshooting

Try increasing GTL 0/2 to 0.670x.

Fine tuning the GTL's can help reduce vcore a little when you get them right.

Please remember that most of us Q9450 owners *Did Not* have problems with the BIOS > 0803 Immediately after flashing - the problems started over a period of time. Regardless of the Quad-Core CPU you are using - if you don't have any issues with any Prior BIOS does not mean you won't start having issues.
Finally it sounds like Asus is getting their crap together and after months they released a good BIOS for the Q9400 Yorkfield that I'm planning on getting.

I'm researching these Asus P5Q motherboards so I haven't purchased one yet and I've been holding off waiting for the horror show of problems to turn into a kiddie ride before I jump on the bandwagon and do a system upgrade since I got burned with DFI last time I build a system. I've been following this thread and the one HardOCP regarding these motherboards so I'm happy to hear good news.

Personally I'm thinking of getting the PQ5-E 8-phase power version of this board but I want to know if there is any reason to shell out $50 USD more to get the Deluxe 16-phase power?

Anyone reporting higher overclocks with the PQ5 Deluxe versus the -E that would justify the extra cabbage?

i keep yas updated on my progress, might need a tad more vNB cause im still running on the same board voltages that i did @ 500fsb...

K Lar mate finished the tests (sorry for the delay) but it took at least an hour per setting and it was mainly an after midnite job

First I booted the mobo with 0803 bios and used these settings :

1.94 (test 1) and 2.04 VDimm set (test2) , Vcore adjusted according bios
    E8600 with 10 x 450FSB/1081Mhz -- 4GB PC8000 Mushkin Redline/4Gb Gskill PC8000PQ 5-5-5-15-55

CPU GTL Voltage Reference (1/3): 0.640
    CPU PLL Voltage: 1.54
    FSB Termination Voltage: 1.24
    NB Voltage: 1.26
    NB GTL Reference: 0.630
    SBridge Voltage: AUTO
    PCIE SATA Voltage: AUTO

On 0803 both Dimm voltage settings passed linpack test (repeated 3 times with a 10 test run) without altering any other setting then Vdimm :

    1.94 Vdimm :

    2.04 Vdimm

Then I reflashed back to 1406 (knowing I need a tiny bit more Vcore there)

1.94 Vdimm and CPU 1.381Vcore set

2.04 Vdimm and 1.381 Vcore failed 1-2 itenerations each time , rebooted reran 1.94 Vdimm, passed..Tried other rams... passes... upped Vdimm : failed bummer...
Started messing with the all the voltages but only a bit more Vcore helped me to pas the Linpack test 3 times in a row with zero failures...(for each ram set) I'm really puzzled here... will try the same on the other deluxe this week.

So to pass with 2.04Vdimm on 1406 I needed to up the Vcore to 1.387 (not 1.386 as in the piccie, that's a typo)

Hope it helps or maybe confuses you even more
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Hope it helps or maybe confuses you even more
Wow! TY for doing that for me, Very much appreciated! Been testing some here myself,I bought a new P5Q Deluxe and am running the setup on it (same revision board). Seems my problem was the board so I am going to RMA it. The new board has 1406 on it now and is running 8x480 with 1.98v (vdimm),with a lower NB of 1.32v versus 1.34v on the old 1.

I can run 484fsb on this board with 2.0v vdimm, so it was the board! Thank you again Very much for your testing time and effort, Very much appreciated! Time to set up my rma.

Upgraded last night to 1406. Kept the same settings as 0803. With CME set to Performance. Passed linpack (10x). And Prime95-Blend 8hrs+.

    I'm a happy bunny.

Yeah I finally passed Prime myself and was happy like damn it's about time I actually passed prime on this board. That was the firs time I have passed it with this board. I could always pass IBT.

With my new board as well as the old board that I am going to rma, CME would freeze me up in Prime Blend if I used Performance. Optimized is fine tho...

I find it odd that certain settings work with certain quads and other quads they won't..

Hi,guys!Ihave an annoying problem with my P5Q Dlx!Everytime,I restart or turn of my computer,it doesn`t post!Actually,it boot`s,then turns off/on and then nothing!Next steps I have to do,is to powering off my PSU for 5s,then powering on again,in this case it post`s,but only to bios, where I have again to set the parameters! Then I normaly come into OS,but I notice, that clock is set to 0:00!This happens over and over again! This is really annoying! The problem is present in stock or OC settings! And ,yes,I have the leatest bios 1406!I would be grateful
    for any help!
