@saint-francis weird as in it isnt an ASCII character that i know of

anyway what i did was cleared the cmos w/ jumpers & removed the battery overnight, & replace the ram and graphics card. after i turned it on today, it had this very same problem :

    http://csd.dficlub.org/forum/showthr...52389&posted=1

so i cleared cmos again and now its posting fine, i am able to get into the bios.

cowie, sdgserv what you both said worked thanks a lot guys! hopefully i dont have any problems installing the OS lol. gonna try this again with the old graphics card to see if that was the problem (memory works fine with other rig).

its not posting again lol, this time theres no debug msg..just nothing at all. gonna try the same things over again later when i've got the time

update: finally got it all running (hopefully), seems like DIMM slots 1 & 2 were the problem (and my old graphics card)

Ok. I just set this PC up. Few questions. I used the 317 bios for the setup of the PC and tinkered with OC a bit before flashing the newest "official" bios.I am having problems OC the 502 bios. My question are this.

Which bios would OC best with this setup from experience? Also what should I use for the settings in the CPU Feature section of the bios. On the MSI P35 Platinum I had to disable most all of the settings and there was like an F4/F7 button that opened another hidden setting that was vital to OC on that board. Is there some hidden bios settings like that on this board? If so what button displays them?

Also with the CPU FSB jumpers, which would work best, by CPU, 266, or 333 setting? I had it on the 333 setting as the P35 Platinum automatically booted up any C2D as a 333fsb CPU. With this setup it just boots as a 266fsb CPU and I found I couldn't oc with that jumper setting hardly at all with 317 bios. I had to use the "By CPU" jumper setting.

Also which FSB/DDR2 strap settings would be best? 333/800 or 333/1066?

Voltage for this CPU are super low. Like 1.05v default. Seems crazy as the E6750 I used 6 months ago was like 1.2v. Where is a good starting place for 3.8ghz with TRUE-B?

Any tips for a DFI re-learner? Last DFI board I had was the LP NF4 and this is a lot different. LoL

Is there any custom Bios for this board? I know there were craploads on the NF4.

The bios you are running is the best one.

Don't use any jumpers, if you have moved them, set them back to default.

Niether of them to be honest. Set the divider to 1:1, which i think is 667/800 for your cpu.

Only you will know that in the long run because it's down to what Vcore you feel comfortable with. But a safe starting point would be 1.35Vcore. Leave CPU VID Control on auto and use CPU VID Special Add to increase Vcore.

Have a good read here and here.

No, nobody has written any custom bios's for these as yet. My guess is that they are far too complicated for most of the bios re-writers now days.

Thanks for the tips bro. I tweaked on it all day then went to work. I will read over those sites in the morning and hit it hard again. I know the CPu is strong as I have loaded windows at 4.2ghz. Just fails orthos within 5 seconds from 3.9 up.

Another thing I have gathered browsing through this thread. What is up with the GTL settings. They seem to make a huge impact in stability for people. What is a good place to start with those on a C2D?

With this mobo and a dual core you should'nt really need to touch the GTL settings until you get higher than 490fsb. Have a read of this thread. You can always ask the O/P for any specific help.

hi, did you guys have any problems when trying to insert 2 DIMMs? my pair of ram (corsair xms2 dhx) works only if i put one at at a time, but when i put both it wont even POST. is this just a ram timing/voltage issue or is it possible that my sticks arent fully compatible with this board when in dual channel?

Getting a Q6600 to 3.2 should be very easy. Just raise the FSB a little at a time until it fails OCCT. Then give it a little more juice. Nothing special. This board will take your quad to 3.2 in it's sleep. I know I can get to 3.1 on stock voltage so you wouldn't have to increase it much at all. Just raise the special add maybe 3-5 %.

Glad you made it back. On my postcode sheet '25' shows 'reserved'. Go to the DFI forum; they can help you out.

ARRRRRRRRRRRGH I'm so close to getting my E6300 running 500x7 on my LT P35 T2R! I found out I needed to bump up PLL to 1.95V so now the PC will at least boot and (sometimes) start to run Memtest, but inevitably Memtest will feeze up. I've tried my Team 1200 and Ballistix 8500 (D9GMH) kits on the 333/667 and 333/800 straps to no avail. I'm sure I simply need to adjust some little thing, but I've tried Vcore (1.42~1.55), NB volts (1.4~1.7V), Vdimm, everything I can think of! Any suggestions?

I think the answer to your problem is quite simple really, by shoving 1.95v of PLL through it you have wrecked the cpu's ability to hold any sort of FSB. Even a good chance now that it won't even run at stock.

CPU PLL and SB Voltage on the DFI LT/UT are linked, and there is no option for 1.6V...
